Now let me get this straight, Im not saying America should be like Communist Germany or anything like that.

Is the media doing more harm or good to America? They show the public whats going on in the War, which is good to know; but is it good if all they show is bad? The media shows the one or two bombings in Iraq a day, but not any of the citys that America has restored and brought peace and stability to; and there are more than you would think.

They make the War look like the end of the world. Compare it to past wars, 3000 men/women have died. Which is terrible, dont get me wrong; but compare it to Nam, Korea, WWI, WWII, and any other war in American history. 3000 Troops have died over 4 years, which is very very little compared to the other wars. But yet the media makes it look like its ruining America, and its the end of everything good

Should the government be able to force the media to broadcast the good w/ the bad, or should they be allowed to continue their propoganda?

and one of the answerers, john b, who is a former marine, said it would be best to keep two regiments of Marines. can u imagine the money the govt would save? in this day and age, 3 marine divisions and one on reseve is totally unnescessary and a waste of money. keep an open mind, what enemy, in the world is large enough for us to have 4 marine divisions? the army could have two regiments of "naval infantry" and like john b said, they can call them "marines"

I bet all the DONKEYS that send our Young Men to do battle would never find themselves in such a deplorable condition as they make our REAL HEROS do. The ones who never see battle would never be treated so poorly, I bet Dick Cheney isn't recieving such lousy care right now... OUR SOLDIERS DESERVE BETTER TREATMENT THAN OUR VERY OWN PRESIDENT.

They tend to keep their arm straight and throw over their head with their shoulder, rather than just wind up and pitch it, which I would expect would make the grenade go farther.

I used to self harm and have several scars at the top of my right thigh which do not reach below girl boxers or small shorts, so are easily hidden, but i do not know what the army health test consists of-will anybody see these? I dont do it any more and am perfectly mentally stable and determined to follow my dream of joining the army! Will my past be a problem and do i need to strip down to my undies at any point during the application process? Any advice or info you have will be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Source: United States Government. Year? 1969. What happened? USA Military informed my I would have to fight in the Vietnam war to stop Communism or else they ( Communist ) will come into my town, down my street, into my house and kill me and my family. OUTCOME? Lost Vietnam in April 1975. What am I doing? I am waiting for the Communist to come into my town and home to kill me. It been almost 32 years. Fast forward to 2007. The USA Government says we have to fight in Iraq to stop the Insurgents from coming into my town, my street, my home to kill me and my family. Do I have to write the rest of this story? Do I have to wait 32 more years for the killing in my town to begin?

sitting on a computer in the Green Zone in Baghdad. Perhaps knocking out a few emails before heading off on patrol.

I assume that has to be the case, otherwise why would they be so hypocritical as to criticise me for disagreeing with the war in Iraq while at the same time being too gutless to be in Iraq themselves.

Most of the people on Yahoo Answers havent been to Iraq. Fact. So dont moan about me, until you take a good look at yourselves in the mirror first.

I noticed that 9 soliders died today. And I was wondering how many bombs we've dropped on iraq because i know that there has been many but i don't have a number. It seems very important for me to know both sides of the story. Many Iraqis have died all ready. And for everyperson on whatever side it seems just as important. Perhaps what i'm asking is how many others have died? Is it too many that we don't want to count? What is war about anyway? Fighting an other man's fight.

My story is a bit lengthy but here goes... My husband and I came back to the US and were living (quite wealthy) abroad. But we wanted our family to live here. We came last summer and he enlisted in the military. He has since been in training and I am pregnant again (in my 8th month) and staying with my father and step-mother. We are paying big money to live here and until this point I have managed all the housework and chores as well as my daughter. My husband has only 4 more weeks of training to complete and then we will soon have orders of where we will be stationed. But obviously now I am in a delicate condition and have to be here until delivery. So the situation is that my family is being emotionally abusive to me and they have been clear that they will not assist me with my daughter if I become more ill or on bed rest. I have been having pains and its quite hard to lift my daughter and to care for her myself now. I am so angry with them and I obviously can't move alone now! ?????
