How would one address a Marine Captain while Marines are
stationed onboard a US Navy ship? If the Navy Captain is the
"Captain" then what or how is the Marine Captain addressed?

I am asking this because as a concerned american, removing our troops early could pose a problem. The democrats, against this war might pull our troops out before things have settled.

It's about time we the good people of this once great country made our voice heard. How is it the government have no control over these gangs, who are controlling us by no one doing anything to stop them. Because they are stopped by these bloody politically correct do gooders. Why don't we have a bad lads army? Then when they are fully trained, send them to war zones such as Iraq and afganistan to let out their frustrations, as that is what they are hell bent on doing to this country, making this a war zone. How many of you agree?

Iran wanted to destory Iraq. Al Qaeda wanted to fight Iraq when Saddam tried to invade his neighbors for oil. Why did the US do this for them - considering they are enemies of the US?

My husband is a Staff Sgt. in the Army. Today before he went to work, we decided to go out to breakfast. Since he had to leave for work from the restaurant, he wore his uniform. A gentleman wearing a Vietnam Vets hat approached us and held out his hand. He said thank you so much for your service sir. My husband's reply was you already did your duty, now it is my turn. He smiled and went back to his table. It made my husband's day. This man's 5 minute conversation made my husband feel proud to wear his uniform. It really does not take much out of your day to make someone feel special. Public support is important to our servicemembers and their families. Please give them your 5 minutes.

"It is the soldier, not the reporter, Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the soldier, not the poet, Who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the soldier, not the organizer, Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.
It is the soldier, Who salutes the flag, Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag, Who allows the protestor to burn the flag."

I'm on leave in southeast asia, going back to Iraq for a second tour in two weeks. Sick guarding oil tanker convoys and risking my life for private contractors. I signed up to serve my country, not global capitalism and Bush/Cheney corporate greed. Any other servicemen out there who found a way out of this? Any suggestions?

Sure they "support" the troops actually fighting their war.....but what about wounded troops?

Walter Reid VA Hospital was found mold and rat infested. The VA budget has been cut time and again over the last six years in our repubican dominated government.

After $360 billion spent on Iraq, they couldnt fix the VA hospitals to treat our wounded troops? Why did they neglect them like this????

Do you think our outrage at the Iraq war is misplaced? It seems illegals are slaughtering more Americans than the Iraq war:

I am in 7th grade and need to write a short essay on the Vietnam War. I have found many websites, but they are all very detailed. Can anyone give me brief facts as to causes, important events and final outcome and/or direct me to a website that has a more simplified discussion of events for kids. Thanks.

From the halls of Montezuma
To the shores of Tripoli,
We fight our country's battles
In the air, on land, and sea.
First to fight for right and freedom,
And to keep our honor clean,
We are proud to claim the title
Of United States Marines.

Our flag's unfurl'd to every breeze
From dawn to setting sun;
We have fought in every clime and place
Where we could take a gun.
In the snow of far-off northern lands
And in sunny tropic scenes,
You will find us always on the job -
The United States Marines.

Here's health to you and to our Corps
Which we are proud to serve;
In many a strife we've fought for life
And never lost our nerve.
If the Army and the Navy
Ever look on Heaven's scenes,
They will find the streets are guarded
By United States Marines.
