This is a COMPLETELY different type of war. And, we didn't get involved in the war until we were attacked during WWII. Iraqi's never attacked us. Don't say they did, because evidence showed the didn't. That's why Bush changed his tactic to gain support for the war to "WMDs."

this is not true. check out an organization called "america first" which was totally against any american involvement in "europe's" war. Charles Lindberg was the Cindy Sheehan of his time and considered a Nazi-lover by many. It nearly ruined his career. If you google about this you can find info on whole units desserting in Europe during the war. Nothing like that has happened here. Fragging was an issue then too.

Because we have become a country filled with people that thrive on instant gratification. For awhile everyone was so proud of the military, there were ribbons and bumper stickers and songs to show it. Now that it has been going on for awhile, people are bored with it. Bored with seeing it on the news everyday. Everyone is ready to throw up their hands and say just pull out of there so they can see a new headline in the newspaper. This is not something that can happen overnight, it will take time. Most of us involved with the military realize that and are in it for the long haul. How ever long it takes, lets do it right and finish it this time.

Just my opinion but back then people stood along side of each other and supported one another and families were closer but today every one is so concerned about being POLITICALLY CORRECT, back then no one was upset about all the German and Japanese civilians being bombed but today if one Innocent Iraqi dies they want to put that soldier under the big house.

"Nobody" is a pretty big term. There were pacifists in WWII also. Most of it centered not on whether Hitler was bad, but that war itself was. Anyway, see the link.

Much bigger stakes.......

The Japanese could have invaded the West Coast of the U.S.
and Alaska Germany was unstoppable in Europe had both
Armies linked up it would have been a much longer war or
they could have won it.

Though it was an inside job, we were attacked by the Japanese. Thus we entered ww2. Iraq never attacked us, even though the Bush administration wants us to believe otherwise.
