IM someone who you know is in the military and ask them to search AKO for you.

you can go to military. com, sign up, and then be able to search for personnel in the military.

Have you tried classmates? How about Google? You can go to military.com and see if you can look him up there - not sure what the requirements are to be a 'member'.
