The field of blue and stars will always face the direction of movement of the flag itself. So by wearing the flag backwards, it demonstrates the soldier and ie the US is moving forward...a charge.

To wear the flag the "normal" way gives the impression that the soldier is moving backward...ie retreat.

Please tell us. Would it have something to do with the flag appearing as if it were being carried by the wearer? Perhaps something about never retreating? Both are correct. Look at the flag on a soldiers shoulder and imagine that soldier was carrying that flag into battle but instead of velcro'd to his (or her) shoulder, it was flying from a staff. The flag would appear in the same direction as it faces now on our shoulder.

I don't need it I know it thank you. Its that way cause that's how the flag would look if you were carrying it toward battle.
