my boyfriend began marine bootcamp this past saturday and i have SOOO many questions about it. For one, well will he be out? He was told 6 weeks, then 10 then 12... and by the time he left we werent sure how long it really was going to be. Does he get to go on a leave after bootcamp or will he have to stay on base?

Am i allowed to send him things from home? will he actually get them? can i send him whatever he needs or is it limited?

what is the typical day like in bootcamp?

I am starting a dity move with the Army. I know that we are entitled to an allowance to offset costs. I am not sure if this will cover the cost of moving until we get reminbursed, is it possible for a do it yourself to put you in the hole rather than breaking even or pocketing any profit? Any information on all aspects are greatly appreciated.

I've got some military buttons, I assume from the British army, and I'd like to find out what regiment/unit they came from. They appear to be crossed scimitars, points upright, with a globe/ball on top with what could be flames on top of it. There is a scroll at the base, but I can't make out any letters. The back of the buttons have 'S & W LTD B'HAM' on them. Anyone recognise them?

He "may" get 4 years in prison, which means probably no prison time.

Shouldn't he be hanged?

BTW, notice Yahoo only puts a link to his supporters. They don't put a link to the US Army website, or anything like that. Yet they claim to be neutral. Give me a break.

"Though the American soldier wants to do right, the illegitimacy of the occupation itself, the policies of this administration, and the rules of engagement of desperate field commanders will ultimately force them to be party to war crime," Watada said then.

I can't understand? if we live in democracy when a soldier
believe the war is wrong should be able to refuse to go to war?

we punish this officer because he believe the Iraq war
is an illegal war and he refuse to continue to serve
for this administration?

we punish this officer when the majority of politicians
do not support the own president?

what happend to the human rights?
Article 19: Freedom of expression and opinion.
Article 3: The right to life, liberty and security of person.
Article 5: Freedom from torture or cruel, inhumane treatment or punishment.

In my personal experience there is nothing worse to deal
with bad motivated soldier!!!

Can colorblind people be in the Army infantry? If they cannot then are there waivers for it? And if colorblind people are not allowed to be infantry how come they get in anyways? I have talked to a lot people in the Army who say that they have at least two colorblind people with them in battle.

Do you think it is hypocritical that people who support the war and are within the age limit to join the military do not join the service and volunteer to go to Iraq. Well you might say you have a family and a job, so does the National guard and Reserve soldiers! Why is it easy for you to say fight and die in a muslim civil war but you risk nothing? Do you think supporting the war means insulting liberals why you sit safely at home watching fox news risking nothing? If it is worth fighting for isn't it worth serving? If so I welcome you to Iraq, a slaughter house on every street corner, if you do not want to come here and serve ( we could need you)than support the troops and demand we come home. put up or shut up.
