A lot depends on what your interests are and which one has openings in the career field you want. Remember if you want to get ahead in the Navy, you’ve got to go to sea. That’s what the Navy does. So if your not interested in being deployed on a ship many times during you career, the Navy might not be for you.
Both services have lots of interesting career fields (many hi-tech), great training and the opportunity for advanced education. It’s a great chance to do something for your comrades, your country and yourself. We were in the Air Force over 20 years and loved it.

As a 27 year USAF veteran I am a bit biased but the Air Force trained me in Computers and I spent 20 years after my career as a Field Service Engineer. The USAF is the only way to go.

Pro- the airforce is super hot. Great uniforms. Lots of cool jobs. Easier boot camp.
The navy has stupid uniforms. Being on a ship for any length of time (unless it's a cruise) is lame. Although, being a navy seal would be pretty hot.
The major con for either is that George W is the commander in cheif.

Firstly, you are a fighting man. That means you go where and when they send you. Your wife/Husband has no say in the matter. You fight and die just like the rest, who have gone before you.
Pros. If you dont go to war you have a job for 20 years. Gaining rank and stature and a multitude of experiences.
Retiring from military life is akin to having your heart ripped from your beating chest.
Cons. Death. Family disruption. Estrangement from your loved ones, ie. Wife and kids. Constantly moving from base to base.
Good luck
