Do you think it is hypocritical that people who support the war and are within the age limit to join the military do not join the service and volunteer to go to Iraq. Well you might say you have a family and a job, so does the National guard and Reserve soldiers! Why is it easy for you to say fight and die in a muslim civil war but you risk nothing? Do you think supporting the war means insulting liberals why you sit safely at home watching fox news risking nothing? If it is worth fighting for isn't it worth serving? If so I welcome you to Iraq, a slaughter house on every street corner, if you do not want to come here and serve ( we could need you)than support the troops and demand we come home. put up or shut up.

Sure it's hypocritical...but some people can't serve for one reason or another...doesn't matter if they have a job, a family, or what. It's their prerogative. Why would you care if someone is a hypocrite or not? Why would you let it effect your life?

I can sit here and insult liberals (like you) while watching fox news, risking nothing, because I have served my country already, and (unlike you, if you are a soldier) proudly.

To me, you just sound like a whiny, little witch, who won't live with a decision YOU made.

If you are truly an American Soldier, then you're a disgrace to the uniform you wear, and I am embarrassed to know of you.

Be a professional...do your job...do it with pride.

Hmmmmmm, so why don't the liberals who support the intervention in the civil war in the Balkans join the military?

Or why don't the liberals who want to intervene in the civil war in Darfur join the military.

Pretty much, you could ask the exact same question of anyone who supports any government policy, why they don't personally volunteer to support that policy, instead of asking the government to do it.

IE:

you want the government to support Aids research, then why not volunteer to be a test subject.

You want higher auto emmissions controls, why not stop driving your polluting auto.

You want more controls to help solve global warming, why not stop using electricity to power you computer.

The military is having no problems meeting its recruiting goals, even though the military has more service members now than anytime since 1995.

Your question is just as silly as those who ask why the Bush twins arn't in the Army, same reason Clinton's daughter wasn't in the Army in Haiti or the Balkans.

Same reason not one of the announced Democrat candiates for President has ever served in the US military.

I think fires should be put out but I'm not a fireman.

I support legal abortion in some cases but I don't work in an abortion clinic.

Am I a hypocrite?

I have no way of knowing whether you are in the military, or in Iraq.

First. Many people are not able to volunteer. I am not able. I tried. No it is not hypocritical.

Second. Those who express freedom of speech and do NOT support the troops are hypocritical.

I served.
I think it cowardly for any male not to serve in the armed forces, whether they "support" the war or not.
Question: Why do people volunteer for the service, then whine about being deployed to combat?

I do think it is hypocritical to agree with a war and not want to go yourself,if you truly believe in it i would think you would want to go.
Reminds me of the president, his father sheltered him from Viet Nam to avoid war but he dont mind sending men and women into a unjust war.

I don't support the war, but I don't think those who do should have to serve. If the road outside of your house has lots of potholes, you complain to the city until they fix it. You don't join the city road repair crew.

There are many people who are simply not physically qualified to serve.

Too old, too young, etc.

There are others who have already completed their service.

BTW - are you a vet?
