Alright so my parents are education orienated (sp). They made me take advanced classes through high school that I would pull a C+ or B- in, I was always a year or sometimes even 2 years ahead of everybody class wise. Im not the smartest guy around though, and I cant even imagine another 4 years of school after high school.

Ive talked to my counselar at school (ex-Marine), an Army Recruiter, and a Marine Recruiter. I WANT to enlist in the Marines and get an associates degree in Criminal Justice (I already have 12 of the 60 credits I need) while Im enlisted, but have no idea how to break it to my parents.

Im in good shape and can easily do the IST at the recruiting office and have good ASVAB scores, I want to enlist as Machine Gunner. Im sure you know the kind of parents Im talking about; all pro-college and my mom is totally anti-me going to the Military but my dad always supported ROTC or the Academies. But I WANT to enlist and get an associates degree from there, REALISICALLY,

While the major force to defeat the U.S. was the Vietnamese resistance struggle itself, the American antiwar movement--one of the most successful in history--played a major role in ending the war.

The Vietnam War was not stopped by any single protest, but by eight years of actions taken by students, workers and soldiers--which eventually made the warmakers afraid, in the words of author Fred Halstead, of “losing more than the war.”

Any help is appreciated.

why is everyone afraid of china? sure they have a military buildup and a large economy, but consider:the united states budget in military spending is 14 times that of china. which means that, in loose terms, if they build 1 plane, we can easily make 14 to counter them. simple as that. their nuclear arsenal is not international, meaning they wont be able to send one our way. their economy is in danger of overheating. by the year 2040, scientists predict that 430million people in china will be over 60, severly damaging their economic output. by the year 2050, india (a US partner) will have more citizens and more global influence than china. so for everyone who has heard things about china's huge military buildup,it is still relatively small in the global scale. its like a race. the united states and the EU are a few laps ahead of them. while they are catching up, they can only push so hard for so long. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/China_as_an_emerging_superpower they have SERIOUS problems

Not a single defeat - Not a single battle lost - 58,000 men died - But the military lost not a single battle. What happend ? Our Government is what happend - Our Government wanted our men to hold the line - be policemen - Capture hearts and minds - The Mcnamara Line - The division between North ans South Vietnam. Had we been allowed to truly go to war and fight like warriors - Vietnam would have been a completely different story. Our Government lost the war , but one can never say A Vietnam Vet lost anything.

It's not as if they ever earn much compared to average salary, so why do they bother complaining?

And if you're willing to die, if you're truly THAT selfless, shouldn't that demeanour also be reflected in civilian life too, as proud ex-military?

he is not married to the girl yet. Will his insurance cover the baby as soon as it is born or will he have to be married to the mother for the baby to be covered. He plans on getting married in October, after baby is born and if he doesn't go active and go to Iraq. He is currently in the A.N.G. Reserves. Thanks.

I am moving to Switzerland in the month of March and I have poured throught all the sites regarding the process. However they failed to mention about the pre-entry test where they do a physical and psych test and conduct an interview on what you would like to do (Infantry, Rescue Squad, Artillery and ect...)

I really want to be ready for this and any information related to the Swiss Army would be great.

Thank you
