why is everyone afraid of china? sure they have a military buildup and a large economy, but consider:the united states budget in military spending is 14 times that of china. which means that, in loose terms, if they build 1 plane, we can easily make 14 to counter them. simple as that. their nuclear arsenal is not international, meaning they wont be able to send one our way. their economy is in danger of overheating. by the year 2040, scientists predict that 430million people in china will be over 60, severly damaging their economic output. by the year 2050, india (a US partner) will have more citizens and more global influence than china. so for everyone who has heard things about china's huge military buildup,it is still relatively small in the global scale. its like a race. the united states and the EU are a few laps ahead of them. while they are catching up, they can only push so hard for so long. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/China_as_an_emerging_superpower they have SERIOUS problems

For the first time.. I have found somebody I can agree with! Thank God! I agree with you 100%! It pisses me off how everyone says that their the next "Superpower". Because they say "Every empire must fall sometime". Well America isn't an empire - so how can we fall lol? You know what I mean? Dude, even if we went down to a "Hyper-power" we would still have India and Japan to counterweight China.. so therefore we would stay a superpower! WOO! Besides even if China does become a superpower next to us, they won't be for long because India has far more potential.. not to mention I learned in my history class the other day that India hasn't invaded a country for nearly 10,000 years.. so obliviously they are peaceful.. The United States of America Shall Always Stay A Superpower!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God Bless the USA!

Not but however the risk are top that she shall be within the close long term. It might now not be viable for a nation to attain superpower fame through simplest having modernized inside a couple of many years. But on the cost China is constructing, it can not suprise any one if she turns into a superpower one day. BTW who rather desires to be superpower. Who desires to manage all of the international's issues. Does China rather desires to head and blank up all that mess different international locations have made for hundreds of years? I say, blank up and set your residence so as first earlier than you fear approximately different men and women's issues.

The US does have a bigger budget, but we also have more expensive equipment, and I would bet more waste (of that money). China's military is less focused on high tech super weapons, and more on solid basic proven weapons and infantry. They outnumber us militarily almost 10 to 1. As far as their nukes, they have a rapidly expanding space program, and I think if they can put a sattalite in orbit I bet they can put a nuke anywhere internationally. I do believe they have and have had ICBM's. With all the advances including EMP weapons, wars could come back to mostly ground combat, and a war of attrition. China could and would win that kind of war.

Don't be fooled by China's inability to wage war. They can; they just aren't ready. Over 1 billion people & more than 1 million born every year looks like trouble to me. China is going to need more land for it's people. How do you think it is going to get it? No country is going to give it's land away so China is going to have to take the land by war; they will. China wants the world to think that they are peaceful; they are now, but it can't last. When the rest of the world least expects it; they will make their move. You can take that to the bank!

The U.S. keeps chinas economy going because its cheap, and we make them dependant on us and us alone. The only problem with them is to every one of us theres 20 screamin chinese comin for ya, if they at any time turn to democracy most of that countries population will die, the principal of communism is to get all civilians fed and if they have to pay for their food its just not gonna happen, slowly theyre turning towards a capitalist nation.

cheap labor. they're manufacturing many of the items you see in malls ("made in china"). they are a growing race. they contain the world population. they don't compete with the US just yet (who could? it's the country everybody wants to live in) but because they are the ones making most of the tp brand's items.
i am not sure if it will come true but in the year 2007, anthing is possible..

Because China has an excellent propaganda machine, that tunes into the doom mongering of anti-american liberals that liken us to Rome.
