I am moving to Switzerland in the month of March and I have poured throught all the sites regarding the process. However they failed to mention about the pre-entry test where they do a physical and psych test and conduct an interview on what you would like to do (Infantry, Rescue Squad, Artillery and ect...)

I really want to be ready for this and any information related to the Swiss Army would be great.

Thank you

You will only be admitted to the Swiss army having Swiss nationality and being in an age range between 19 and 32 - probably the top end is even earlier in practice.

The procedure called "Aushebung" in German had major changes about two years ago - now it takes two or three days. The sports tests are very general, as far as I know - and the possibility to do special services depend on the results there. If you are not that fit, there are even some office jobs (although, you would have to go through the basic training including shooting and marching and so on).

Im in the US Army, but actually have spoken to a couple of the Swiss guards at the vatican. Where i didn't get into specifics, it sounded as if your training will be demanding, but if you are in good shape to begin with, it will be easier. I wouldn't sweat it too much, you will be fine, just show up every day and give it your all, good luck.
