There are soldiers in my unit that have to drive 3 hours to get to the armory to change their AKO password when the 150 day period is up. They must either do that or stay out of the loop until drill or go through the hassle of changing their password every 3 days. One has to wonder if the fact that many Guard and Reserve soldiers have no easy access to a keyboard with a CAC reader was considered when instituting this policy.

Have any fellow Guardsmen or members of the Reserves had this difficulty?

I will be going to basic at the end of this month and realized that I haven't told my nephew I will be leaving. I have helped raise him since birth and we are very close. I just can't figure out how to explain the concept of military to a 5 yr old. All he seems to get is that Aunt Holly is leaving him.

If N Korea were about to launch a nuclear missile toward the US or S. Korea would you use one of our nukes to stop that?
If a large force of US troops were about to be overrun by a huge horde of enemy troops would you allow the ground commander to use a small tacrical nuke to prevent the loss of his men?
Would you support the use of a nuke to stop Iran from developing its nuclear program if you knew for certain they were developing an offensive nuclear capability?
If another country used a nuke (or even attempted to) to take out a US city or a US Navy fleet would you support using a nuke(s) in rertailiation?
Is there any circumstance under which you would support the use of nuclear weapons?
I'm just trying to find out where people stand on this question, because I believe our leaders have made decisions about some circumstances already......

Then what about those countries that weren't saved-either because of being allied with Nazi-Germany or by falling under communist rule?

What parts of Europe did the US actually contribute to "save"? Britain and France? Should the whole of Europe be grateful for that?

have bought over 5 years worth of M.R.E.'s and stored them in the underground fallout shelter i made, plus i have tons of survival gear hidden in secret caches in different secure area's just in case i need emergency back ups for whatever situation should befall me, i put two underground concrete water tanks in with my fallout shelter, one is a water storage tank and the other is for gray water, i based my shelter on Utah shelter systems(tm) but i have done a few things differnt so as not to incur there wrath, people that know me say i'm going overboard this survival phase they call it, but i would rather be overprepared than underprepared. I'm at over 1000 feet above sea level, and i do have an air lock in the decon room. I don't have guns in my shelter either but that doesn't mean i can protect myself, i like big game hunting with a good bow and arrow rather than a loud rifle, cross bows and bow and arrows are good enough for me.

Given UK troops are sleeping in tents, don't have proper equipment etc etc etc in AFGHANISTAN and Iraq, inspite of the UK Prime Minister, Tony Bliar (sic) PROMISING on Oct 6th 2006, that "whatever our troops want, they will get.." ( the actual transcript by way of a reminder can be found below..)..
I hope someone will really justify the MoD agreeing to pay £1,200 for a door - albeit an oak door, and the TOTAL bill for DOORS alone will come to some £3-MILLION ! OR.. £1,000 for an Office chair, which the TOTAL bill for CHAIRS will TOTAL some £3-MILLION (for a civil servant to sit on whilst paper-pushing in a beautiful EXPENSIVE office, while UK troops have to sleep on camp beds in a tent before going out in thier "war-fighting" patrols on a daily basis in AFGHANISTAN..??). OR..an open-plan “highly innovative” office space, costing £27,302 per square metre, with marble and oak features restored to the “highest quality”. whilst thier own UK troops make do with tents ! PLEASE JUSTIFY THIS
