Since the BRAC of last year went through military medical traing is one area where interservice training is being centralized and standardized, from basic beng a medic to specialized procedures. All have same advancement features, pay grades and opportunity to recive outside training and educatinal benefits, along with ROTC and other training you can pay for college education with.
Most military hospitals suck! butcher shops of people paying back their college loans and part time duty of National Guard or reserves and even to experimental programs upon it patients.
They have a captive patient base that begins from entering until the guy dies if he retires along with thier dependents, wives kids under 26 etc,
It is socialized medicine at its worst.
Yet if you use the system to your advantage and can look the other way at its flaws it will indeed provide the training one needs to insure a profitable future.
As an officer once you have performed your mandatory period of enlistment you can remain in reserves work for a hosptial full time and make very fine wages and still recieve pesnion beneifts beyond most peoples ever achieving in private work force.Along with your pensions from Hospital etc:
From all the retired military , mostly women in medical fields , tho quite a few EM combat medics ,all say it is the Naval Service that are best, but......................
US Public Health Services is a uniformed Service and it is the creme de creme of all of them. Google it they have a web site.

Navy, definitely the Navy. You can serve aboard hospital ships, hospitals in foreign country's, domestic duty, combat medical teams with the Marines- Seals - Special Ops -or Recon Marines, field hospitals or aide stations in combat zones.
The Navy has a program to financially cover the cost for medical schools, for those candidates who will commit duty to the Navy following medical school; a program that allows them to serve while fulfilling their intern program.

I think that they are all a bunch of sawbones, but If I had to choose I'd pick the navy as they really are much better equipped than the other branches.
