As many of you may (or may not) know, the US Postal Service released the first Muslim stamps honoring the Islamic Holy Days of Eid.

President Bush sends Ramadan wishes on the White House website: http://www.whitehouse.gov/infocus/ramadan/2006/

This is also the only regular first class stamp endorsed by the President: http://www.whitehouse.gov/infocus/ramadan/eidstamp.html

As you can see it is a very nice blue with gold Arabic lettering.

Since this is the stamp that the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces seems to favor, did any of you do your duty and use this stamp to send letters, cards and packages to soldiers fighting in Iraq?

I used it on everything that I sent out this year. "Islam is a religion of peace," so says our President.

God bless America and God bless our President!

It's been a while since I have, but I don't feel like I'm at full fighting potential. I have no problem lifting heavy or running, but I would feel disadvantaged during hand to hand combat, scaling/rappelling, pulling dead weight, those sorts of things. I suppose it is mostly my confidence, but is it also going to be an exclusion factor for applicants?

I am thankful for all men and women serving anywhere in the world both past and present. I don't care if you served while we were at "peace". You were willing to fight for our country and that is good enough for me. A big heartfelt thanks goes out to all who have served and those who are currently serving. I pray for God's mercy and blessing on you and your families daily. Without your service, I may not have the freedom to pray. Again, THANK YOU!

Has Iraq not already adopted a constitution and didn't our fearless leader not say we would pull out when that happened?? Instead I hear of an insurgence of new American troops to the region??

Where did we deploy more soldiers - to Europe or to Asia and the Pacific? What were the troop numbers on each front? And what were the casualty numbers in each theater?

It is ironic -General Shinseki was forced into retirement because he said we would need at least twice as many troops in the initial invasion (Bush did not want to hear it -he wanted the small quick force recommended by his neo-con draft dodgers)-now neo -cons are saying -oh he really did not repace them..er it was their time to go anyways......

£2.3 Billion on office refurbishment, when our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan are ill-equipped and under paid.

The Wives living in Military accomodation are having to put up with sub-standard conditions.

The estimated cost of this MOD refurbishment works out at roughly £27,000 per sq. metre.

A good way to spend our taxes?

My hubby's in his AIT training right now, and I moved down here to GA to be near him. It has added a big strain to our marriage--finances and such--while removing the pain of being 2,000 miles apart.

I was just wondering how other military spouses deal with seperations, and I was looking for ideas on what I could do to make my sweet husband feel a little extra special one of these days. He's not allowed to leave the base, so coming home is not an option right now. I'm leaving on a 3 week trip to see my family soon, and I wanted to show him how much I appreciate him before I go.

Any ideas?
