Sadam was not actually a CAUSE of the war, just an eliment that was added as a side project. The war started over Osama Bin Ladden's attacks on 9/11 and the war begun against "all terror". So just because Sadam is gone doesn't mean that the war is anywhere near over. Sadam was targeted for crimes against humanity, tried and sent back to Iraq where he was hanged to death. Sadam was not actually in anyway related to the start of the war (9/11) and was made to look like he had something to do with it to remove him from power. I agree that this had to be done for the good of the public, however they went about it the wrong way. The fact that you are asking this question just goes to show how warped and twisted everyones view on the war is. Very few actually know why it started and who was involved. (Osama).

Perhaps for reasons such as an approval saying companies such as BP, Shell, and Exxon will be allowed 30 year contracts to operate in Iraq. This war has nothing to do with "terror" or "terrorists", or dictators the U.S. had plenty to do with until they wanted to do things their own way, and frankly I'm a little scared and suprised that anyone in America still believes that. With all the info that is available to you nowadays, you should all really be more educated about what is really going on here. Please do some research for yourself and spread the word, your government has gotten far too large and is not out to protect any of you, it is out to protect themselves and the corporations that have invested in them and overseas.

Saddam was anti-American and willing to support terrorists/al-queda. Saddam had also broke the promise he made to the UN about playing nice with the world and be willing to be inspected to prove that he was playing nice.
We took Saddam out because we were there and he needed to be punished for his crimes against his people and for breaking his promise to the UN.
Once he was gone, other people within Iraq thought that since Saddam was gone they should have say in who controls the country. It was voted on and those that wanted control lost so they one-upped Algore and started a civil war. The Shiites are trying to kill the Sunnis. The Shiites are also willing to accept help from the al-queda to kill the US soldiers who are there to keep the peace and support a democracy (and the vote that went with it). Unfortunately, the Iraqi government and its citizens aren't willing to stand up and fight for peace so we're stuck there (to protect people that are too chickenshit to fight for their rights for peaceful cohabitation). We may have over stayed our welcome but if we leave, one group of Iraqis are going to eventually kill the other group of Iraqis, they will take dictatorial control of the country and then we're back to a new Saddam.

Saddam wasn't the entire problem. There are a lot of people with a vested interest in an Iraqi power struggle, especially forces from outside of Iraq.

The bad guys are taking advantage of the removal of the dictator. The Iraqis have so much more freedom now than they had under Saddam, that the bad guys are running rampant. We gotta stop them. The bad guys are killing their fellow Muslims, and they're also killing Americans. If they get America to wimp out and run away, then they can kill each other even MORE!
We gotta win. Then Iraq will be free and secure, and we can work on the next dictatorship. Dictatorships are what cause terrorism.

Because his followers could try and retaliate therefore we can't take any chances. They'll be out for blood. Not only that, you can't just pull out in the middle of a war, we have to finish what we started.

i dont think its really a war, the iraq people dont have the power to breathe on the USA. We are just there trying to make order and instead we are killing our soldiers and innocent prople. So, you are right, there is no threat, we are in Iraq because Bush wants us to be.

The same reason that there is still war even though there are no weapons of mass destruction found. Your guess is as good as mine!
