It's been a while since I have, but I don't feel like I'm at full fighting potential. I have no problem lifting heavy or running, but I would feel disadvantaged during hand to hand combat, scaling/rappelling, pulling dead weight, those sorts of things. I suppose it is mostly my confidence, but is it also going to be an exclusion factor for applicants?

if you can pass a physical at MEPS. Talk to a recruiter.

Maybe you should join the Air Force or Navy where Hand to Hand combat is minimized?

Otherwise, get on a program of heavy squats to see just what your "breaking" point is. If,depending on your body size, you hold up under serious squat training, then chances are you will be able to do the other things.

I can train you for one week and tell you if you would have problems, so can others.

You can if you are at 100% healed. You can still enlist with a waiver, though.

It can most definitely be a disqualifying factor if it is a bad injury, which heals slowly, or not completely.

let the medical professionals at meps decide. I don't think it'll exclude you though.
