A U.S. airstrike destroyed a foreign fighter safe house in a Sunni insurgent stronghold west of Baghdad, killing five insurgents, two women and a child, the U.S. military said on Sunday.

Residents in the village of al-Lihaib near Garma told a local Iraqi journalist that one house was levelled in Saturday night's air raid, killing nine members of the same family -- three women, three girls and three boys -- and wounding a man.

The journalist said he had seen three of the bodies, those of a 4-year-old boy, 16-year-old boy, and 5-year-old girl. The military said "That is the way the bombs fall and this is the American way". A spokesman stated "As long as the USA does it then it is OK". All the military stated they were proud of the deaths due to the Iraqi people being responsible for the world's problems.

Enlistment is down in every branch of the Armed Forces. How long can the same troops be expected to serve before being replaced with new troops? Without a draft where are those troops going to come from?

For my birthday yesterday, the army decided to send me this overnight delivery. Unfortunately it wasn't a pretty diamond ring. They are giving me a month to report to Ft Jackson so I can be activated. I served 5 years in the army and one of those years in Iraq. I can not be doing this anymore with the army, they have already taken so much from me and I know that I signed the paperwork saying I'll do a 8 yr committment (which I might add, the recruiter failed to mention). I am just wondering if I can get out for medical? Right now I'm collecting 40% disability, because the army decided to make me damaged goods. And if so, can they determine this before I report or after. I'm not sure if anyone knows the answer to this but I figured I would ask anyway since I only have a month to figure out what is going on with my life. Also, if there is any other options for me, I think I did enough for this country. Thanks

(sigh)
This was asked before, and someone answered... 12 - and that's WRONG. It varied, from 328 (in the beginning) to 100, if I recall correctly.
12.
I'm not sure that the answer could be more wrong.
Towards the end of the war, on paper at least, it was about 100, I believe. Each (standard) Wehrmacht Panzer Division had one Panzer Regiment composed of 2 battalions (theoretically) one of which had Panzer IV's, and the other had Panzer V's (Panthers)

I was looking to go into the airforce reserves but when i went to my doc to see about losing weight, i found out I have a bad tryroid and will be stuck on pills for the rest of my life. Will the armed forces let me in?
I am a prior service vet and did time over in OIF. It was the VA that diagnosed my problems so it is in my military medical records so I can't just not tell them. They will know the second they get my records. If I don't tell them, I run out of my meds and get sick all over again. I am not up for that.
