A U.S. airstrike destroyed a foreign fighter safe house in a Sunni insurgent stronghold west of Baghdad, killing five insurgents, two women and a child, the U.S. military said on Sunday.

Residents in the village of al-Lihaib near Garma told a local Iraqi journalist that one house was levelled in Saturday night's air raid, killing nine members of the same family -- three women, three girls and three boys -- and wounding a man.

The journalist said he had seen three of the bodies, those of a 4-year-old boy, 16-year-old boy, and 5-year-old girl. The military said "That is the way the bombs fall and this is the American way". A spokesman stated "As long as the USA does it then it is OK". All the military stated they were proud of the deaths due to the Iraqi people being responsible for the world's problems.

So everybody here posts somehow the same answer: We might do wrong things but look at the "enemy," they're doing it to!

First: 12 year old children are not the enemy, wether they are american, or iraqi, and their deaths should be prevented always, we should always care when they die, if we don't we are as evil as the people we fight, then we become the fascists. We should never try to find a good excuse for collateral damage, there is none.

Secondly, to answer your question. There will always be such massacres in any war, they cannot be prevented. War however can. The United States is a large big army that can do only one thing: attack. They can not build up an economy or a country, they can not even retreat.

The US-military (not the soldier but the generals, ...) do not care about the deaths they cause. The US-government does only care about "elections," economical profits, but never about the ùany ruined lifes. It's time for a harsh expression: the US-government and the islamo-fascist are very alike, very radical. The only problem is that they call eachother enemies, if the wouldnt, they would be thesame.

Why did the terrorists cause so many innocent US civilians to lose their lives when they attacked the WTC??

You prove your ignorance each day. You're not even worthy to be called an American. How dare you have pity on the enemy. They attacked us first. Now, they use their own women and children as shields. They can't call themselves a man any more than you can. They hide behind the innocent and you hide behind your puter.

Oh and by the way, this article is yet another Erudite fabrication. The lies you create to try to get people to believe in your cause is sickening. I hope one day you fry in jail and get used by the biggest baddest dude in jail. I'll serve you right for purposely lying and creating stories that aren't true. Changing a copyright new story is against the law and one day, you WILL pay.

NOT in the article: The word LEVELLED is not used to describe the house. NONE of this statement are in the article: The military said "That is the way the bombs fall and this is the American way". A spokesman stated "As long as the USA does it then it is OK". All the military stated they were proud of the deaths due to the Iraqi people being responsible for the world's problems.

You best check out your sources..

Do you think that the Islamic Crusaders are the good guys? I guess as long as the Sunnis and Shites are killing each other then its okay. But if the American kill some innocents people that the terrorists use as shields then that's horrible.

What would happen to Iraq if the US military left? The Iraqi fractions would all be killing each other, and eventually the most brutal would win -- that means the Islamic extremist would impose their form of terrorism for the government.

This guy is just an idiot. You read the papers every day and hear of 100, 30, 50 or 89 bodies found in iraq, women, children included. Its not the americans, its the shiites vs sunnnis participating in their stupid religious war. Yeah, the americans may kill innocents during their operations, but at least they dont mean to kill kids and women, its a sad side effect of war, but they are not running around killing hundreds at a time. its muslims showing their true colors

An air raid is not going to be on target 100% first off.
In any time of war, there are going to be civilian deaths. Ita apart of war either side is unable to escape.
Just like on 9-11-01, there was alot of innocent death here on American soil. Was from Iraqis? No, but thats not the point. If you take a look at it, innocent people are killed. It has happened in every war, not just this one.
Our men and women who are serving over there are dying, they are innocent in this all.
They are just defending our freedom, their comrads, to bring freedom to Iraq, to stop Terrorism.
You should be thankful where you live at, with our freedom, you are able to voice your opinion about the war. In other countries, they still have it where you can have your tongue cut out for bad mouthing the military, you can be shot for talking bad about your leader.
On the other hand, we have donated money to Iraq to help them rebuild their country, we have dontated money for them to have better schooling. We are helping a country who are not completely with us for our cause for being over there.
Its a part of war.

The real question: WHY do the terror organizations (who "claim" to be Muslims but in reality -- let's look at the faith itself -- and there is no way in anyones imagination that you can stretch the word 'faith' to include deliberate targeting of their own neighbors and relatives -- men, women, children) use HUMAN Shields, WHY do they "HIDE" behind the walls of Mosques/Cemeteries/Historical Sites to snipe indiscriminately at those passing below (including women, children, true faithful), why do they kidnap and terrorize the innocent (and yes, they do this -- including kidnapping children from their parents, bringing them to training camps, and carefully drugging them up and training them to be assassins), and why, oh why do this ON PURPOSE and then "BLAME" the US or Allied Forces on what they THEMSELVES did by DELIBERATE CHOICE ....

and YES, they DO choose to target their own neighbors, family, friends, and those around them (including the elderly, the women, the children) and it does NOT matter who is in the way -- their delusion about the faith is just that -- a DELUSION and a cover for the actual TERRORISM that they are doing -- and Human Shields -- that is the WORST .. and it is very cowardly.

Do you truly understand what happens over there ... or have you actually talked to those who have come back? I have .. and know what happens -- because MY OWN SIBLINGS served in country -- along with many others that I personally know. When they are faced with a drugged up 12 year old with an Assault Rifle, hiding behind a young mother and her children, or a 13 year old sniping at the Allied Forces (if they are there) or the women/children in the street -- how do YOU React or feel about that situation (and yes, this is QUITE COMMON -- our forces see them as children -- and that causes us a LOT of grief in having to deal with this situation).

Your source .. is suspect -- and that source wants to INCITE anger by passing along the PREJUDICE and the MISCONCEPTIONS that he has CAREFULLY Developed over the years.

Once again, you are trying to establish a point that is definitely NOT true for the vast Allied Forces that are present in conflicts around the world. WE DO VALUE LIFE -- that is why we VOLUNTEER for that service.

NO ONE is proud of death - no one. The ONLY ones proud of death are those TERRORISTS that are CAUSING the deaths, and DEFLECTING the blame for the conflict onto those who are there serving the people ...

BUT OF COURSE, you NEVER MENTION that part of the Allied Mission -- and all the GOOD our forces are doing in country.

You got this from an Iraqi Journalist who obviously does not like
us, and you believed him..

Here are the facts: We do not always know who the insurgents
may be holding captive. It is a bloody shame that innocent lives
have to be lost, but that is why they say "war is hell".

In this case there are five less insurgents to worry about.
They are the problem. They hold innocent people hostage and
use them as shields.

Sure innocent people will get killed in war but in Iraq the insurgents are killing them more than anyone only the US gets credit for it. And as for what any journalists says ask them if they have anything good to report and they actually say the people don't want to hear that!

first of all, i am no supporter of the war in iraq. i'm not even american.

the problem is that there is no clear battlefield, there is no way to tell the insurgents that are the americans' targets from the civilians, so this kind of thing happens.

the spokesman and journalist are spreading propaganda. which means they are no real journalists. they are spreading anti-american propaganda, and pay no heed to the fact that it gets even more people killed.

it's what happens in all wars.
"it is not only those who choose to fight that die in war, it is mostly those who live near someone else's battlefield."

It's not our fault that the enemy uses innocent people as body shields and cover for themselves. Casualties of war happen. If the enemy didn't hide among the innocent then we wouldn't have this problem.

It's not like we are getting orders to "go blow up innocent people". also, innocent people are all the same. The fact that you keep stressing the fact that it's women and kids doesn't matter to me. They are ALL innocnet lives, regurdless of age and gender, but they are not taken on purpose.
