I believe Cadet's are saluted by other Cadet's but I'm not even sure of that. Probably not.

When I was a cadet they had PFCs and SPECs who would have nothing to do and smoke us for fun. The only thing would be if you are in a national guard/reserve unit and you are a SMP cadet, and you are placed as the PL, or section leader slot than you would tell a NCO to scuff them up. But smoking someone is usually not the answer. And Cadets are ranked as the garbage of this world, just slightly higher than basic trainees. And technically a cad-idiot needs to stand a parade rest when addressing a NCO.

As an officer I have smoked someone once. And it was two cad-idiots who were working in our office and totally blew a Major off and he told me to take them out back since he didnt want to write a counseling statement for them.

Next time a cadet regardless of age, affiliation, or whatever blows me I m going to find their actual officer or NCO and have them smoke the cadet for me because I have way too stuff to do

When I was in [I left in 1994], a cadet did not even have the rank of an E-1 private. So, unless your CO has put out some sort of directive saying the cadet has been assigned a duty which requires them to have a certain status of rank/authority, then no they cannot smoke someone. Well, unless they're directing PT and it's their job.

Hell no, cadets have no power or authority because they are not yet soliders/or officers, nor are they really obligated to anything (unless they get in a contract, but then they can still get out of it). Cadets however must respect the authority of any service member regardless of rank. Yes if a PFC tells a cadet to jump the cadet has to say how high

Being a cadet means that you are a student at a military academy, or you are in a "rotc" {Reserve Officers' Training Corps} program at collage. The only rank or authority you have is among your fellow students. Upon graduating you are given the rank of second lieutenant in the army. If you have a major skill {think, doctor} you may be given a higher rank.

Cadets and Midshipmen have absolutely NO power with the regular military, until they are commissioned officers.
Regular military does not have to stand at attention or salute them either.

They are subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice though.

i'd say air cadets yet i'm one so....... @ Mary, i imagine it truly is truly uninformed: you're saying 'you may want to fly a glider finally' nicely absolutely you'll very nearly actual fly a glider as long as you're 16+, also you'll definetly fly in a Grob teach (as utilized with the aid of the RAF to coach pilots) presented you're 16+ and it isn't finally as there are quite some opportunities to bypass flying with the air cadets. also if you're an air cadet it ability you may bypass on each of the air cadet camps and bypass flying AND bypass on military camps aswell, that you'll't do as a protection rigidity cadet. I absolutely have and it is been wonderful....the alternative is yours yet i'd definetly bypass with the ATC.

Cadets are to be treated with the same respect and military bearing as any other officer. They are to be saluted as with any officer as well.

As far as being able to "smoke" someone...I am unsure. Officers usually don't deal with that...it's not their lane. Discipline of troops is an NCOs job. But if anyone attempts to smoke you the newest rule is that you can respectfully request that they join you.

If you feel that the cadet is out of line I suggest you address the issue to your chain of command. They will remind the young officer-to-be that discipline is not his lane of fire and he needs to watch his lane.

Good luck!
