A military family is a family where one or both of the parents or couple is in the armed forces. Military families tend to move around a lot. My dad is in the army and we just moved. For kids or teens it may be difficult because we make friends and you have to move away all of a sudden. Some people who have just moved aren't so lucky to say in one place for a while. They move within 1-5 months or less. Some may stay for more than 3 years in one place. i've know people who've stayed for 15 years! Or it could be a family member that you know who is or was in the military.

a family that one or more are in the military. A military Brat is a child that comes from a home where someone is in the military, that does not mean they are a brat. My daughter in law is a Lt. in the Navy and when they lived on base all the kids were military brats. My gradson is the best. I miss them alot as they move around every few years and it is always far from home.

A military family is the strongest family there is. I am an Army wife and in the 8 years my husband was in the Army he was gone for 4 years of it. I moved from home to home whenever the military told us to. I raised our kids on my own. I made sure the bills were paid and there fun to be had even though most days I just wanted to cry. I supported my husband with all that I have and made sure he knew that even though we missed him dearly we understood the work he had to do. We appreciated that he was willing to do it. Military families are lucky. Our family members are heroes.

It's the friends that you make when you are away from your own family.. ie: military members, their spouses, their children..
That is your "military family". They are there for you when you need them and you are there for them when they need you.. It's a special bond between families.

It can also mean a family that has generations of military service, like mine. I have a relative who fought in the American Civil War, my great-grandfather fought in the Spanish American War, my grandfather served in World War1 and my Dad in WW2.
