I was looking to go into the airforce reserves but when i went to my doc to see about losing weight, i found out I have a bad tryroid and will be stuck on pills for the rest of my life. Will the armed forces let me in?
I am a prior service vet and did time over in OIF. It was the VA that diagnosed my problems so it is in my military medical records so I can't just not tell them. They will know the second they get my records. If I don't tell them, I run out of my meds and get sick all over again. I am not up for that.

The thyroid controls your motablizm. The military is really strict on weight and weight management. I have seen them kick someone out for it too. Having a bad thryoid would make weight management difficult. It also requires regular blood test to make sure your doseage is correct this would be difficult to do in deployment situations.
