Find a phone number for your congessman and contact a member of the staff there. They would be able to give you the best methods for application, as there is no set screening process, each senator or representative may have different methods of evaluation.

My Congressman had a long interview process -- he took this job very seriously.

One of the things he did was to have all of the candidates come in, and have interviews in front of community leaders, most of whom were ex-military (officers).

The USAF academy is a great place, as is West Point, Annapolis, etc. However, the days are long gone when you had to graduate from one of those places to become a General, Admiral, etc. The USAF gets many of its officers from ROTC, etc in college.

BTW, the USAF is currently in a downsizing mode, and the ones hardest hit are the officers. Then again, this all goes in cycles....

Question...

Why do you want to die for another country? Dying for your own is all and good, and if there were a war here, I'm sure there would be a show of patriotism... but why die for someone's political agenda? Screw that!

E-mail them, it is much faster, or if your congressmen has an office nearby, visit it.
