My husband is looking at joining the National Guard and I have lots of questions.
Do they really stay in the U.S. at war time, even if there was a draft?
Is it really only one weekend a month, and then you work your normal job?
How hard is the training?
What are some of the pros and cons about it?
Anything you can tell me will be a big help! Thanks!

This saying, " we are fighting them there so we won't fight them here " , seems more like a myth every day. As far as I can see the majority of the ones we are fighting have no need or desire to attack Americans in the US. They have us exactly where they want us. Nor can we pick and choose other military actions elsewhere....if we are being bled white in the Middle East.
So what is the solution?

Senator John Kerry, that smug limo-leftist, took another cheap shot at uniformed American Patriots in Iraq. Kerry insists, "You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."

When asked to apologize by House and Senate leaders, Kerry said, "I apologize to no one. ... My statement yesterday was a botched joke."

That was until Senator Clinton, whom Kerry will be battling for the Demos' presidential nominee in '08, chastised him: "What Senator Kerry said was inappropriate." That prompted Kerry to offer up a faux apology: "I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted to wrongly imply anything negative about those in uniform, and I personally apologize to any service member, family member, or American who was offended."

In the words of VP Dick Cheney, apparently, "[Kerry] was for the joke before he was against it."

Kerry, who loathes the military even more than Bill Clinton, has a sordid history of treasonous remarks about uniformed Patriots, beginning with his 1971 congressional testimony when he claimed American troops had, "raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Ghengis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam...."

Was that a "botched joke"?

Just last year, Kerry said, "American soldiers [are] going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the -- of -- the historical customs, religious customs."

Was that a "botched joke"?

If you believe Kerry's comments undermining support for our troops, and constitute "conduct unbecoming" for a U.S. Senator and Democrat Party leader, please sign the "Petition for Investigation and Indictment John Kerry for acts of treason".

Sorry I tried to post some thing more discreet, but seems I gotta get personal to find out.

I got in trouble twice in the Army. One Article 15 in AIT, then got caught on a piss test after deployment. Was in the Reserves.

After I was busted for weed, they were sending me huge 20 page letters, but the part I payed most attention to said that lacking a responce (or challenge) within 30 days I would be processed out with a "General, Under Honorable Circumstances" status. I never responded, assuming they would do what they said, and just process me out.

Went to Mexico, bartended, traveled over the world, haven't had an address, still doing it. So I just want to make sure they did in fact process me out (as they said they would), since my ex-GF(we broke up and I left around that time) told me for a while my unit was calling for me at that address.

Sorry it's so long.............My question is how do I make sure I'm out of the Army? I want a paper.

Bush says Democrats do not have a strategy for Iraq.
Bush said recently that strategy change is to be considered in Iraq. ( In October ). Said some similarities existed between Nam ( Tet offensive ) and Iraq.
In the same breath he says he is going to stay the course. So knowing the current strategy (?) is not effective , he still want to continue. Democrats don't have any strategy either. So what happens??

How come over the last decade the people of the United States are having to try and figure out the lesser of two, three, four evils? Name some good ones if you can. Please explain why you think they are good. I ask this question in the political room and didn't get any answers. Only bashing.

I'm sure the morale when they first invaded Iraq was quite high. Do you think it's declined? Maintained? Increased? Thanks for your opinions.

Ive heard 100 times a day that "democrats have a better way"......PLZ tell me this better way (and be realistic everyone knows pulling out of Iraq now isnt an option). If we leave now we lose all credibility, respect, and no country will fear us...the N. Korea issue will get MUCH larger b/c they will see how weak we have become, and it will result in more terrorist attacks on American soil...so what would you advise us to do dems?????

i have researched well into this russian made missle system, its the only one of its kind in the world, far superior then the american patriot system, the range of the russian system is far greater and hit probabilty allmost 90 per cent,it can track over 20 different targets at once.the maerican patriot has a hit probabilty of 5 per cent as proved in the first gulf war against scud missles.once the triumph locks onto it's target and fired the target whether its a cruise missle, ballistic missle or any jet fighter is doomed.

has been deployed to Iraq twice in the Army...he came back his last time and was watching the news and he said "you know, I didnt realize this war was so bad until I got back", at first I thought he meant he was against the war now so i was like whatre you talking about???....he said..."this war is portrayed by the media as being so intensely dangerous and nothing but horrific things going on when thats not the case at all. There are 150000 or so soldiers in Iraq and only 100 died this month, the chances of living are significantly higher and we have the same chance of dying in our own home as we do here, not to devalue anyones life b/c its sad but the media is so liberal all they do is portray us and this war in a negative manner and its degrading"....

Why does the media and anyone for that matter talk about things that they have NO CLUE about, and try to bend it any way they can to try and prove their own personal battle, to try and manipulate Americans????

Please give me your honest opinion or right answer about current situation in Somalia. Can Somalia be saved from going to War with Ethiopia? Is the war against Somalia justified or legit. 2 African brothers are going to war - who is behind it, who's going to benefit? Do you think Somali's will trust the West to solve their problems? Many young Muslims believe its Jihad to fight Ethiopian force- is this correct and again Ethiopians have great large number of Muslims besides the unique Islamic history in Ethiopian.Do you think Ethiopian has right to step into Somalia?
We need good answers, a good and honest answers might be broadcasted live in one of the local radio.Thank you
