Senator John Kerry, that smug limo-leftist, took another cheap shot at uniformed American Patriots in Iraq. Kerry insists, "You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."

When asked to apologize by House and Senate leaders, Kerry said, "I apologize to no one. ... My statement yesterday was a botched joke."

That was until Senator Clinton, whom Kerry will be battling for the Demos' presidential nominee in '08, chastised him: "What Senator Kerry said was inappropriate." That prompted Kerry to offer up a faux apology: "I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted to wrongly imply anything negative about those in uniform, and I personally apologize to any service member, family member, or American who was offended."

In the words of VP Dick Cheney, apparently, "[Kerry] was for the joke before he was against it."

Kerry, who loathes the military even more than Bill Clinton, has a sordid history of treasonous remarks about uniformed Patriots, beginning with his 1971 congressional testimony when he claimed American troops had, "raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Ghengis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam...."

Was that a "botched joke"?

Just last year, Kerry said, "American soldiers [are] going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the -- of -- the historical customs, religious customs."

Was that a "botched joke"?

Wildand51-It is NOT my idea. The petition is being circulated and I DID SIGN IT.

Avian--This was not necessarily my view but the view of the petition instigators. Kerry's testimony INFERRED that these atrocious acts were common place and not isolated to the Mi Li incident. Since when has service in the national guard been disdained and ridiculed? The majority of the swift boat veterans would take issue of your claim that Kerry "served in Vietnam with distinction".

I like soup---I heard what he said, in all cases cited and I know it is not taken out of context. The petition is being circulated for what he recently said. I take it you did not sign it?

John Kerry should have been charged with treason back in the 70s when he met with the Vietnamese in Paris. The war was still waging and he met with them while wearing his full military uniform. Met them on his own not on the authority of our government. He betrayed his fellow soldiers then and he betrays out soldiers now.

Reading all the comments above, and enduring all the 'critiques' from the media, I believe Kerry 'did' botch the joke - but it was a poor joke to begin with.

For all you who believe the military is under-educated - look at the facts. 99.7% of all military members have at least completed high school. All military commissioned officers have at least a bachalor's degree. Compared to the US norm, the military has a higher level of education (only 89% of the US population over the age of 18 completed high school).

In the end, I wouldn't sign such a petition because Kerry is washed up. And if Hanio Jane (the traitorous ***** she is) has never been tried for treason, then Kerry never will either.

it incredibly is not any longer a sturdy analogy. John Kerry misspoke; do no longer forget he's a adorned Vietnam vet --who went voluntarily-- and holds all squaddies in severe regard. Obama's determination of words replaced into unlucky; he could desire to have been intentionally impartial on those recent activities. In the two case, i think of you're overgeneralizing Democrats as all having an "elitist conceitedness." i'm incredibly effective no longer all Republicans are a gaggle of anti-psychological, gun toting bible thumpers. i hit upon this divisive, us-against-them mentality very juvenile and counterproductive. think of approximately it.

Just to bring in a slight degree of balance, have you ever read the official US Army and government documents, and the testimonies of those US soldiers who were there, on the My Lai Massacre in Vietnam (the description of what was done to some of the women is too gruesome to repeat here), and the horrendous details of the No Gun Ree Massacre in North Korea? After reading these two represenative accounts maybe you would have put forward a slightly less jaundiced view.
I understand that John Kerry served with some distinction in Vietnam, while at least one senior member of the current Adminstration opted for national guard duties, for a lot of which he was, in effect, AWOL.

Former House Majority Leader Dick Armey (R-TX): On the October 31 edition of MSNBC's Hardball, Armey said of the attacks on Kerry's remarks, "Well, it's pretty standard fare in political discourse. You misconstrue what somebody said. You isolate a statement, you lend your interpretation to it and then feign moral outrage." When host Chris Matthews stated that Kerry "was trashing Bush," Armey responded, "Right," and went on to say, "A fundamental premise of politics is we can make this work if people just never figure it out."
Former Bush campaign chief strategist Matthew Dowd: On the same edition of Hardball, Dowd said, "I think John Kerry served in Vietnam very well, and misspoke and got jumped on."

So should the former REPUBLICAN House Majority leader and former Bush campaign strategist bet tried as well for trying to defend Kerry.

"You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."

BTW ,John Kerry HAS appologised IN FULL, though he need not have. what he said was accurate.

This remark was clearly aimed squarely at the dunce called G W Bush, he did not study, he was lax, he was a drug addled, alcoholic and he has ended up stuck in Iraq.

For you to not see this, and to believe that the idiot Bush, who HAS commited high crimes bordering on Treason, should still have some support shows how much of an idiot you are.

Even if this HAD have been aimed at the troops in Iraq, it would STILL have been accurate. America has been recruiting form the lowest socio-economic demographic. this is a fact. this demographic is generally very very stupid. A LARGE proportion of the US troops in Iraq are very unintelligent by international standards. They are easily manipulated and tend not to be able to think for themselves. If they could, then they would not be there!

However, If you support the troops, you should not support bush sending them to die in their thousands for Bush's lies! You should not support Bush sending them to fight without a plan
You should not support Bush sending them to fight without adequate protection, or weaponry to do the job. You should not support Bush cutting their benefits. You should not support Bush!

Oh brother. He clearly does not support war and the things stated on the actions of the Militants are facts. Do you even know what treason is? Your idea of a petition is ludicrous. Get back to reality.
