Hmmm, this is a reach but it could be that we are proud of the job we do. Like the military. Put it in to give our answers on military issues more credibility. AND why would we want to impress you? I have served in Iraq and am currently in Afghanistan. Impressed? haha. Yes or no who cares. By the usage of the term conscription, although spelled correctly, it shows you as not being very knowledgeable about the Military. At least the US military.

YES and they say that some cannot be mentioned due to a "It is on a need to know basis","It is priviledged information.",and one of the best "I can tell you,but then I have to kill you". Women also do it.

In the military the peer pressure is NOT to be a virgin and how many times one has sex whether they are 1 night stands. This applies to women.

Allison White used to brag about bagging guys while in the US Navy in the 1990s. She had the Art of One-nighters to Art and Science.

Women are better at this since they have learned to listen thus they know how to say is in subtle ways while men are overt.

They rarely impress military women or military dependents because they see this bullsh*t a lot so only non-military girls are.

I am no longer in the military, but I am proud I served. I did not do it to impress anyone. Any women that would impressed with that would be to simple minded to stay with for more than one night. I did it because I felt it was the right thing to do. Others before me did it so that I could live in a nation as great as America. I wanted to do my share.

Missie,
In here on Yahoo everybody is faceless, nameless, and shameless,
Even in a virtual world if people find the need to impress others more than express themselves freely and share whatever entertainment and knowlege they can , then it is sad, truth is that it is thier own problem, and thier right,

But the down side is that people who are truly military and whos views can be enlightening and valuable are lost amidst the false pretense of the masequeraders,

We just hope that good sense and respect for each other prevails with identitities as close as possible to thier own.

My humble salutations to surfer Mark g for his honest opinions.

People (and I include BOTH men AND women) who serve MUST be proud of their uniform.

I don't wear the US Army uniform, I wear the Belgian but We went through the same hard training. We wanted the same things, we screamed and we cryied for the same reasons.

I have seen many wanna-be soldier and even people pretending being soldier and they were not...to impress ? yeah and to give to other people the impression they are hard, fierce and enduring...I don't know if uniform impresses women.

For sure, a 10-years old boy is impressed by a soldier. It always make me smile when they innocently try to salute myself, and I salute them back...but honestly, Wich women is impressed by a man in uniform ?

And the question is also right for the men : Wich man is impressed by a woman in uniform ?

She does her duty like me. No more but not Less.

I agree with Susan M... how do you know? I know there are some posers, but if you believe those people... that's on you. I have never really talked to anyone over the internet other than my husband but maybe if the guy you talk to is bragging.. maybe it's not really "bragging". Maybe he's just proud. Maybe it's because when you are in the military that's pretty much your whole life for the time being..

I'm sure that most of them either are in the military or have been in the military. Anyway, I doubt if guys join the military to impress women and I don't think they pretend to be military to impress women either. If men are going to pretend something to impress women, they will pretend to have money. And, sadly enough, many women are impressed by money.

conscription. That word means this...
1. compulsory enrollment of persons for military or naval service; draft.
2. a compulsory contribution of money to a government during a time of war.

Which means you saying they wouldn't make it past the forced entry stage doesn't make sense.

Being in the military they should be PROUD. Using that as part of your user name isn't bragging. It's part of who they are. Or can we say you're bragging with the 21 on your user ID?

It's an important part of American society and history. It would give the bragee a utilitarian and existental feeling based on their morals of serving. If the alterior motive is to impress a female, then their motives are untrue and would reflect in their work ethics. EPR raters and writers take note. It could also be driven by their testosterone or estrogen levels, respectively.
