that's dishonorable to list everyone who has ever gone awol would take a long time.

Not everyone who went AWOL was dishonorably discharged. Generally a soldier had to be considered a deserter by being AWOL 30 days or more and destroying his/her ID Tags and ID Card before being considered for discharge underhonorable conditions which is less than dishonorable conditions.

Typically only names of those convicted by a General Court Martial are posted on unit bulletin boards or in rare cases made public.
AWOL's "absense without leave" happen so often in peace time and not to mention war-time the list would be endless.(slight exageration)
Most AWOLS result in non-judicial punishments that are kept at the unit level.

Being AWOL and receiving a dishonorable discharge are two different things. If you are AWOL you can't be dishcharged (dishonorable or otherwise) till they find you and know why you are AWOL. After all, someone who is AWOL could be dead in a ditch somewhere and thus have a pretty good excuse.

I'm not sure where to find that list... but I'm sure it does exist because ppl that are dishonorably discharged from the military are not allowed to vote.
