Ok... Iran is about to make atomic weapons and then later nuclear or blah blah, so everyone is worried. My 9th grade science teacher could have made an atomic bomb too. Whats the difference?

I've have asked certain questions about military matters (as have many others). Some of them might be considered "hard" questions. However, I have noted that some answerers, (mainly those who have been in the military or those who have family in the military) post answers that are extremely rude.
Many seem to assume that the questioner is disrespectful of the military or that whatever we ask is a personal afront. Some seen angry because they assume that the questioner has never seen military action. To them I say that they should remember that every U.S. citizen is not obligated to join our military, albeit perhaps they should be. To them, I also say that you really need to discontinue reading into these very legitimate questions, things that are totally untrue. We are engaged in wars -- Iraq, Afghanistan, a war on terror. Each has far-reaching historical significance. I am looking for answers from a much wider range
than the U S government; from a much wider range, than anger.

Hey everyone! I have a quick question and maybe someone could help me with it. I was in the Army, stationed at Fort Drum. Met my husband in the same company and everything. But I got out because I was pregnant and I didn't want our baby girl to have both parents in the military. I got out before my 4 yrs was up, and myquestion is: can I still salute to the flag? I'm I considered a veteran or not? I was listening to a school band play and tried to fight the urge to salute because I'm not sure. The military theme popped back in my mind and I went to position of attention just out of routine I'm guessing.
Thanks

People make it sound like they were forced into it. They say Bush is killing our troops. They knew what they were getting themselves into when they enlisted in the military. When will people finally undersatnd?

I have seen numerous comments to "bring the troops home". Our men and women in uniform are performing a mission. Do any of you actually understand what you are saying? Do you want our proud military branded as quitters?
As a veteran, losing one member is one too many. But it's in the job description. And we have a 100% voluntary force. Please describe how you would bring the troops home. I'm just curious.

Would there be a miltary value in something like a boat version of a fighter plane? There are Cargo planes/ships, troop transport planes/ships, bombers/missle cruisers, sigint planes/ships, etc, but no sea-going version of a fighter - a small, fast, heavily armed boat (1 or 2 man crew) capable of attacking an enemy ship, is there?

That we are in a war and that more blood will be shed is a foregone conclusion. Who deserves the wrath of the American military most urgently?

If not. Then STOP POSTING ALL THIS BS. Some of you people are so far off it doesn't even make sense. Some of the information is misleading, taken out of context, or just flat out wrong and made up.

I leave in a couple days (Sept. 25th) for Lackland for basic training and I'm a little worried. I am 18 years old, 6' 2", and 150 lbs [tall and skinny] and I can run my 1.5 mile in 13:10. I can do 52 crunches in 2 minutes. The thing I am worried about is that I am only able to do about thirty push-ups in 2 minutes. I work on them every day and I can only improve by one or two every week. Do you think over the 6 weeks I'm there, I'll be able to improve by 15 or 20 more and pass at the end? Also, if you have any advice, and I mean any, could you pass it along? I'm not nervous, I'm actually excited, but I just want to really go in prepared. Thanks alot!

This is my opinion no doubt ill get abused thru it but.......... First off i feel war is not necessary because when you think about it if you cause war you kill innocent people..... but then if u try to get rid of the bad people you end up killing people so basically war is sort of like murder and its unecessary.

I give whole lot of praises to those who helped me to be in this world who fought in wars you are great people i respect you fully but when we see those soldiers who think its a fantastic game to kill innocent people for no reason or make up lies as most of war is it really makes me mad so i feel there should be other ways of resolving issues why dont we just have this thing where all weapons get destroyed and then all those who are bad serve time in prison as basically if u execute a murderer its too quick.... why not let them rot ?

Thats my opinion so id like to hear some nice opinions from others.... and a real decent reason has to why we cant not have "war".
