Well, in general Liberals feel the war in Iraq was and is a mistake. So they are not supportive in that sense. On the other hand, many Liberals also make the argument that US soldiers are dying for a cause not worth their blood. In that sense, they are very much supportive of the military.
Seems to me that is a matter of perspective. Nobody is as supportive of anything as they theoritically COULD be. And how much anyone SHOULD support something is matter of individual judgment and conscience.

I think a liberal or any other person who is an American citizen supports the military. It's just that they may not support this crazy and illegal war. But when it comes right down to it, if we had another world war that threaten the country, I think they would be the first in line to help defend it.......

The best thing to do is see why anyone is making a statement. Liberals don't hate the military, but it might seem that way. Any time someone thinks that your job shouldn't exist, you don't really care for them, even if that person thinks you as an individual are great.

Yes, you are wrong.
I can't speak for ALL liberals (of which I proudly belong), but I DO support our military....100%!
I DO NOT support Pres. Bush and his administration!
I DO NOT support the ways that Pres. Bush and his administration have devised to utilize our military for their own purposes!
I DO NOT support the fact that Pres. Bush's daughters have not bothered to enlist in the military...since Bush feels this war is a noble cause!

The hell you say! I would say the LIBERALS are more concerned about the 14 military bases the Bush Admin. has ordered built in Iraq , alone. The Liberals support the troops, but not the occupation of Iraq & Afghanistan.

I would say that is a stereotypical statement. Not all conservatives support military, vice versa, not all liberals do NOT support military.
However, going with the assumption that liberals are not supportive, I guess it's all relative to who you are speaking with.

"look at how many lives clinton ruined by downsizing the military. trust me you are right for thinking that way"
Now that is the dumbest statement yet,, I would suggest you do a little research on what the "BRAC" committee is all about,,,, being as it is still going on with a new round of closers this year!!

What on earth does being liberal or consertive have to do with being patricotic or supporting our military.. in the words on Nicolas Cage,, "What kind of horse sh!t is that"

I, and I would suspect most liberals, support and appreciate our service men and women. What we don't support is squandering their lives in a falsely justified invasion of Iraq, while leaving the job undone in Afghanistan. It's the actions and lies of the current administration that we do not support. Lies that have cost lives and created a huge new set of problems and exacerbated the terrorism problem, rather than solving problems.

Liberals traditionally see war as last resort. Roosevelt viewed World War II as the European war until Japan attacked us. Woodrow Wilson felt that the first World War was a European war until US ships were being attacked. Republican presidents view war as a viable means of carrying out a foreign political agenda. For this reason most wars started by Republicans are usually regarded as unnecessary if complete victory is not obtained quickly.

You know, I really hate to burst your bubble, but when I was in the military (in the medical side), most of the people I worked with were liberals. It was a bit of an inside joke with us that the conservatives were out there getting their asses shot at, while we liberals were the ones keeping them alive to do it.
Ironic, don't you think?
