Ok... Iran is about to make atomic weapons and then later nuclear or blah blah, so everyone is worried. My 9th grade science teacher could have made an atomic bomb too. Whats the difference?

Nuclear weapons in the hands of a rogue nation like Iran could be very dangerous. These people have no respect for human life, and if they get them, they will USE them. The US has had nuclear weapons for over 60 years, and we used them twice, when we first developed them. We have been in quite a few conflicts since then, and have not used them when we could have. I am certain the mad dogs runnig Iran won't exercise the same restraint. It's not just their President, the real power lies with their head Cleric, Khameini (sp?).
I do not believe for a minute that their program is for power generation. They are sitting on one of the largest natural gas and petroleum reserves ever discovered. There's no way developing nuclear power generation is going to be cost effective for them.

Where would the 9th grade science teacher get ahold of weapons grade uranium or plutonoium? What trigger mechanism will be used to bombard neutrons to initiate a sustained chain reaction? The number of centrifuges to produce enriched uranium would cost more than the 9th grade science teacher's salary, let alone the cost to engineer the trigger mechanism.

Your teacher would have needed weapons grade material first. If and when Iran has it, they will give it to terrorists. Bad thing. Or, use it on Israel. Bad thing. Think about the people who run Iran. Another bad thing. Do you get the point?

Interesting teacher no doubt. But it's not only "who" is capable of making them. It's where they are in the world! Imaging the state of oregon and now California. Both states have atom bombs. Both states being that close would make alot of tension.

Very unlikely your teacher could make a nuclear weapon. He could make a dirty bomb but a nuclear weapon takes some very complicated parts that can't be produced without specific very very expensive equipment.

I can make a nuclear weapon if I had to..........yet there's a big catch.

You have to have weapons grade nuclear material for it to work!

If you'd actually been paying attention to what's been going on with Iran, then you'd know this and your question would be moot.

First of all u'r teacher could not have the ability to produce platinum which is what Iran with have the ability to produce which would enable them to have the ability to develop nuclear weapons of mass destruction which will be in the hands of a unstable Dictator. QUESTION ANSWERED!

Your 9th grade teacher probably doesn't want to control our country. And your 9th grade teacher didn't fly two planes into the WTC and kill thousands of people.
