Not to worry, all branches of the service are meeting their quota, the army just slightly under. There are many patriotic kids around today and are willing to defend their country, rather than talk against it. As seems to be the intent of far too many adults who seem to buy into hiding their heads in the sand and bypassing the reality of today.

I personally believe in the draft and that every citizen should have the opportunity to serve their country. It wouldn't have to be in the military, theres all kinds of public service that could better our country. I believe it would help give them a vested interest in our country. By the way, I am in the military.

I'm actually glad. If nobody joins then the draft will come back. That means that the rich children of politicians will be in the military as well as the poor and we might not be as quick to attack other countries then.

don't worry, there are lots of people that are more than willing to join, in fact it is harder to get in now, than ever. also whoever said that you had to go in if you were in jrrotc or sea cadets in wrong, only time that is required is in college if you got an ROTC solarship. or go to one of the service academys. and again the requirements for getting in is very hard.
Also don't forget even if you don't want to be a fighter, for every grunt on the ground, it takes 13 people to support him, be it in supply, medical, or intelligence. So it is possible to serve without going to combat.

I don't think it's lazy not to join the military. A lot of young people don't want to be sacrificed so that other people can get richer than they already are.
Kalmans: I don't think the draft would make a difference. Look at Rumsfeld's and Bush's military records.

I'm concerned that somebody 13 years of age apparently has the grammar and spelling capabilities on par with a 5 year old.

Don't worry, I'm only 15 and plan on going to the corps when I'm older. I'm stuck with a bunch of comi-pinkos in my goverment class, they always complain of Bush's war. But if only they would realize that the physical war can be fought on our soil or it can be fought on thiers. I will gladly go and serve to keep that war from my country.
