of the 17th Airbourne division during WWII? My mothers first husband was a member of that unit. He was KIA on or about 2 April, 1945. We beleive it was during the taking of the bridge at Remagen or action in th Ruhr valley. She has never learned much of what happened. She is 83 years old now and would like to find out as much as she can before she passes on. His name was PFC Raymond Biddle. It would be great to hear from someone who served in that unit, even better some one who knew him. I know this is a long shot, but I'm trying.

hi, I'm joe shmoe

I am thinking about basic training, is there any of my other planted y!Answer users out there can tell me how easy and nice it is to join the US military forces?

"why sure...first you must contact your local recruiter and then you must pass a aptitude test and pass a physical screening and not have many criminal records that can't be waived during war. then you can be up to 42 for enlisted people and agree to lose weight if need be. finally welcome aboard, my newfound Starship Trooper...and what about our nifty college bennies? we offer 100% tuition while in if you can find time being deployed to use laptop and guard your perimeter at same time. Good luck and way to go. God bless you, your ever ready Recruiter

Clinton says he was after Bin Laden since before the Somalia fiasco. He says he tried his hardest to kill Bin Laden. Why are there so many people saying he didn't try. Why didn't the Republicans go after what really mattered in the 90's? Like the war on terror(before it was named that) and killing Bin Laden instead of going after Clinton for lying under oath. surely they understood the threat to America was not Clinton's morals but Bin Laden's?

I hate how there is a "right-wing conservative" side and a "left-wing liberal" side to every issue. But what I hate more is that there are these sides to military issues. And intelligence issues, issues regarding specific ideas on intelligence reports. How can we know who read what report, what they thought of it, why the Bush administration did so little to stop Al-Quaeda in the 9 months they had time to do things(minus the time they had to spend replacing the "w"'s on the computer keyboards throughout the white house when they moved in).

My girlfriend thinks since i'm gonna be a Helicopter Mechanic in the Army, that i won't be involved in the fight in Iraq. I don't know if i should tell her that i will be involved, and that i will most likely go to Iraq. Everyone, no matter what MOS they got, are out there fighting right? She thinks only the people who got Combat jobs fight.

I don't wanna scare her, but what should i do?

I've heard that Air Force basic training is really easy. They don't have to run if they don't want to and if they get tired, they just raise their hand so they can alert the training SGT's that they need to rest. Is this true or is this AF person making this up? He actually was upset that it wasn't as challenging as he'd hoped

I mean as far as controlling, abusive, being loyal. Do Military seem more so,and if you think so,why is that? Please respond if you have had the Exp....
And before you start in,I am not picking on Military.....Either Civilain or Military can be controlling and all the above.

I plan to attend my daughter's Naval graduation on Oct.13th. in Great Lakes, Illinois. I live in Central NY, and never had to make arrangements before, such as from airport to hotel, from hotel to Navy base. I see there are hotel/flight packages, but I have no clue what hotel is a good choice within the vacinity of the base. How would I find out transportation arrangements from place to place once I do get into Chicago ahead of time so I know my trip is planned out? Any suggestions???

I am asking you this as an American. Lets take a little scenario and tell me what you think:

Lets just say the Kurds were going through a massive Holocaust like event and they started fleeing here to the U.S.A. to avoid persecution and massacre. Imagine that their numbers kept increasing to a massive point. Then one day the United Nations states that we have to split our country with them and they are recieving support from everywhere in the world. Then a war breaks out and we lose and we become an occupied nation. Will you ever or should you ever stop fighting to retake your land?

Should the Palestinians ever stop fighting for their land?

I know this scenario is highly unlikely but I am just showing you the issue from another perspective.

Its only 8 minutes long but explains why the towers collapsed.

There is evidence and PROOF every where. I don't see how anyone can think Bush was behind any of this. It really amazes me.

I want to go the Marines so I can pay for college tuition...but then I am not too sure if I want to join. I have very important people in my life. I'm engaged and my fiance is going to the airforce...is there anyway that I can find information on what happens in both the Airforce and the Marines and what are the conditions of joining and is there anything about couples that can see each other if they are either engaged or married.
