My hubby is a Drill Sergeant for Army BCT. They don't generally get any time off after graduation. Usually, within 3 days, everyone is sent off to their AIT. However, immediately after graduation, you're released for the day to spend time with family and friends that attend or come to see you. Generally, you have to return for lights out. If you're not one of the first to leave, you can get a pass for the next day too. Usually, as a rule, you're not given any leave time until graduation from AIT.

My son graduated from boot camp in OK, then went to 4 weeks in Ft. Leonardwood, then went to the Airborne training in Georgia. Then he was able to come home for a month. I believe that is pretty much the story.
Since then he has been able to come home for Xmas (2 weeks), then middle of this summer (2 weeks) and recently had a quick 7 day last minute leave as he is being deployed next month.
The army has been very fair with the time off.
Good luck to you or the person you are asking about...And thank you...
A mom

You get the day of graduation off. You can leave with loved ones for the night after the graduation ceremony, but you must return early the next morning.

typically, no leave is authorized between graduation and schooling. Additionally, no time off is allowed during school, unless it happens during the two week break in Deecmber when everybody gets timeoff.

Just the amount of time they give you to get to your destination which is usually just a few days, unless you want to use up whatever leave you have accumulated which won't be much.
