You can not bring your family with you to boot camp period. they can come visit at your graduation but that's it. I am assuming you are Navy (8 week boot, other branches are longer)
depending on the length of your "A" school you can move your family there but the Military does NOT recommend it. nor would I if you have kids.
I was newly married with no kids when I went to "A"school. (Got married during my 15 days advanced leave between Boot and "A". My wife took a bus to my "A" school location and we got an apartment right outside the gate. then when we moved to my permanent duty station the Navy paid to move everything there.
The Navy will pay one time to move your family and belongings. so she came to my "A" school on our own money and left all of our things in storage back home. my school was 15 weeks and we lived in a pretty much empty apartment with the bare essentials.
That way when it was time to go to my Permanent Duty Station the Navy paid for her and our belongings back in storage to move then.
BOOT: Orlando, FL
"A" : Pensacola, FL
PDS: San Diego, CA
HOME: San Antonio, TX

From my experience with my husband going in the Army over a year ago, I didn't get to see him until he graduated. Then he went straight to Officer Canditate School, and then Officer Basic Course. After he finished all his required training was I allowed to live with him because we got his duty station orders. Only after BCT was he allowed to see me, and even in his other training we were limited. From all that I've gone through, 8 weeks is nothing. It'll be over before you know it. Personallly, when my husband had to go do a month and a half of training before he deployed a while ago, I was better off not hearing from him or seeing him. Once he called a week and a half prior to coming home was I antsy to hear from him again. GOOD LUCK!

family members are NOT authorized to join you at Basic Training/Boot Camp. IF your follow on schooling is over 26 weeks long, you MIGHT be allowed to bring them along and qualify to live either in Housing or off base with them. If it is under 26 weeks, you will not be allowed to reside with them off base, even if they do come (on your dime) to stay.

The first chance you will have to see them is at the Family day( if there is one) or at Graduation of Basic/Boot.

Don't plan on seeing your family much while you are at bootcamp. You can't bring them to bootcamp with you, they'll probably help you arrange a place for them to live towards the end of your stay.

After you have been assigned a duty station. Then you have to apply for base housing, which you may be able to do this in tech school. It could take a while, depending on how long you have to attend tech school.

It depends on your job and how long your AIT is? Your wife and kids can come to your BT graduation, but will then have to go home again until you graduate from AIT. Then when you are assigned to a duty station they may follow. Most post housing takes a while esp. for lower enlisted.
