I have seen numerous comments to "bring the troops home". Our men and women in uniform are performing a mission. Do any of you actually understand what you are saying? Do you want our proud military branded as quitters?
As a veteran, losing one member is one too many. But it's in the job description. And we have a 100% voluntary force. Please describe how you would bring the troops home. I'm just curious.

We cannot abandon the people of Iraq like last time. A withdrawal now would signal our defeat and the terrorist ranks would swell. This is NOT an option. What would our men and woman have died for if the country were too fall after we left? More troops would just be sent back over there and we would have too start all over. The situation in Iraq is not as bad as the media says it is I assure you.

Who acted like Hitler when Saddam gassed 3,000 Kurds in prisons for the same reasons Hitler did huh? That kind of crap HAD to be stopped.

Its not that the military is losing the mission its that the president really did'nt stop to think at what he was doing or what type of war he was commetting our men and women too. But do I beleive the troops should come home yes I lived through one conflict in Veit Nam and seen what it did to the men and women from that war. I to am a Vet of Veit Nam even though I did not go to Nam the NCO's and the Comanders I had did fight in Nam and what I got from them It sound like Iraq could turn out to be another Veit Nam and I dont think the people are ready to fight another 16 year war Over 50,000 men and women lost there lives in Veit Nam and most of them were drafted and today the military is made up of all volunteers. A lot of people say that the military people know what their signing up for no they dont not really. I think if any man or woman could see what war dose to a human body from a gun shot, road side bomb, I dont think that there would be as many volunteers as there are today.

Thanks for asking though.

Just my opinion.

The troops are dying for an illegal war. over 2,600 of our men and women have died in Iraq thus far, with several times more scarred for life. Why? Fighting a mission that the gov't cannot consistantly define and a war whose cause has since been denied by our own gov't (like when they admitted there were no WMDs). Most Iraqis dont want us there anymore. It is not our job to create nations when its convenient. I"m sure Exxon will get its oul deals later

I honestly believe that the mission in Iraq is misguided and wrong. Moreover, Iraq is currently still worse off than it was under Sadam, and it's cost the USA hundreds of lives and billions of dollars in the process.
I believe the USA has an obligation to clean up the mess it has created there - and then withdraw ASAP.
I don't have an 'exit-plan' however, any more than the government does.

Unfortunately, there is no easy solution to what you're asking. However, since the reason for going to war in the first place was a bunch of crap and not at all legal, I believe that a sustained withdrawal of all troops from Iraq could be accomplished without the world or the U.S. suffering any significant setbacks. Also, if we leave then all that would be left to fight would be themselves. I don't believe we have any obligation to step in to stop them from shooting or destroying themselves. They would eventually get tired and figure out some way to get along since no more troops would be there to protest about or shoot at........

Simple answer: they are performing the same role as the Nazis did for Hitler's crazed notions, this time called Bush.
They are brave, but innocent human beings who are being sacrificed by the US government so that they can control oil prices, and businesses in the Middle East. They are not defending the world from a lunatic leader- they're working for one!

I think we should bring them home as soon as the job is done, and not a day later. best way to do that, is let the military do it's job instead of some polictician telling the experts how do thier jobs.
