I would have to say that North Korea would be the next viable target, with their economy in the crapper and famine running through all areas of their country, they are tightly strapped for any means to support their country. Kim Jon Ill (sp?) has said that he will sell nuclear technology basically to anyone who is able to pay what he asks...including terrorist. That is a more prevalant danger than Iran, who I think is trying to create a scene so that he can keep the price of cude oil at $50 + bucks a barrel. But thats just my humble opinion.

Clearly, the next choices are Iran and secondarily North Korea.
Both are insane, but in different ways. One sociopathic, one is deluded, both are dangerous.
Until these backwaters learn that they are not entitled to have much less use, nuclear weapons, they represent a threat to international stability.
But at least we are in no danger of reverting to a Cold War scenario where we must facedown a true rival like Russia or China.
These countries do not share our complete trust or moral and ideological perspective, but they are enlightened enough to see their role in the world alongside us, not attempting to convert or kill us, like the dangerous Theocracy of Iran.
Or in the case of North Korea, a nation so detached from reality that the wishes of "Dear Leader", a so-called semi-divine being who rules with "enlightenment and destiny" are law.

The Pentagon’s 2006 Quadrennial Defense Review was issued in February. As congressionally mandated, this report is a “comprehensive examination of the national defense strategy, force structure, force modernization plans, infrastructure, budget plan, and other elements of the defense program and policies….for the next 20 years.”
The document also unveiled the notion of “the long war” Defense. Secretary Donald Rumsfeld signaled in his February National Press Club appearance when he said “The United States is a nation engaged in what will be a long war.”
The clear message is that all resisting Muslims and their sympathizers are Islamo-fascists and must be defeated in a “long war” struggle to preserve and spread “western civilization.”
The much clearer message is that post-9/11 the Bush administration embarked on a messianic bankrupt global racist colonial “war OF terror” against all nations and peoples everywhere opposing its quest for world dominance.
In the pursuit of our Imperial aims, in order for them to work, it’s essential to have foreign leaders in place who know “who’s boss” and will cooperatively go along and serve our interests ahead of those of their own people. When they don’t, the plan calls for regime change to replace them with someone who will.
Whoever is the most defiant.

Remember that in this country, civilians control the military.
The military will vent their wrath on the target chosen for them by the executive branch of the government.
