I have a friend who is in the airforce and has been telling me some nice things about it. But am a lil undecided about joining. Is it worth it? Anyone who has been in the airforce or currently in the airforce and who could give me info or things on what to expect as far as training and so forth?

Someone on here suggested that was so, in military terms.
Just a few.
Richard Todd: British 6th Airborne, landed to relieve troops at Pegasus bridge. D-Day
James Stewart: Colonel Army Air Corp WWII. Price on his head!
Lee Marvin: Wounded whilst serving with !st U.S Infantry Division.
Anyone think of any more?

:) Hello there!

Many people critisize Israel because of the latest war.
Well, too bad so sad! I totally agree about what Israel has done.

People should critizise Lebanon instead.
If they don't want war, and the hezballah has only interfered with Lebanon, and Lebanon don't want them, why is it that ..

Children and adults in the streets of Beirut were accepting stickers, candies, and flags of the hezballah ? This was before the war.

You should have seen after the war! People were dancing and saying how much they love the Hezballah, yes Lebanese resident,s random ones.

Yes, Israel has killed people, but I don't agree with you, they are not innocent. Who ever doesn't revolt against a bad goverment is a coward! We all know how cowards end up :)

So there you have it the truth!

If you oppose me, then tell me why! I shall always win a debate, especially about an absurd subject like this!

The UN's humanitarian chief, Jan Egeland, condemned the "completely immoral" way Israel dropped thousands of cluster bombs on Lebanon even as a resolution appeared imminent. Is he uniformed?

If you look at the evidence it is pretty clear: No plane wreckage at the pentagon, no flight 93 plane wreckage at the crash-site, audible and visible detonations during the world trade center collapses, including what appeared to be a controlled demolition of the relatively undamaged WTC7... just to get started.

Why does this happen so much ? It has happened recently.
Two soldiers were kidnapped by HEZBOLLAh, a terrorists group in Lebanon. Yes Israel has attacked small villages and innocent people. But, HEZBOLLAH are big cowards who hide between innocent residents not to get caught. Well, that's the result of being a coward ..

I believe that Israel had the complete right to attack Lebanon!
After all, two Israeli soldiers were kidnapped by the terrorists out of the blue!

What the heck?!

Before the CEASE FIRE was called, I saw this British man frustrated at Israel in sky news shouting, ISRAEL IS NOT JUSTIFIED FOR ... THEY ATTACKED INNOCENT PEOPLE! THEY HAVE KILLED SO MANY! ISRAEL IS WRONG, AND THEY SHOULD BE CHARGED WITH WAR CRIMES.

Woah, what an exaggeration. I'm so glad he was cut off haha :)

I'm no liberal left wing but I'm starting to get the feeling that the war in Iraq is not going well for the US. Here's a few good reasons and some counterpoints.

1- This thing was supposed to end 3 years ago when the statute came down. Bush (the C in C) said shortly after "major combat operations in Iraq is over" on an aircraft carrier w "Mission Accomplished" banner overhead.

Since that time we've had at least Three (3) major battles in Iraq (1st and 2nd Battle of Fallujah and the Cemetary battle against the Sadr Army in Baghdad). Also dozens of security operations and at least a few hundred IED incidents killing and maiming US troops and more or less innocent Iraqi civilians.

2- This situation continues. It ebbs and flows but MORE US troops have died and been injured (over 2000 KIA) after Pr. Bush said major combat in Iraq is over than during the initial invasion.
This along with not finding any WMDs the noted causa belli of the neocons has I believe hurt Bush's creds.

Okay, I bet you don't know all the facts. Mostly the media just showed the Lebanese side of the story.
First of all, the whole damn war began because the terrorist group, HEZBOLLAH, kidnapped 2 innocent Israeli soldiers, killing the others..
Did you realise , that Israel only wants peace? No, it does not want war! All these years, Israel has given everything just to get their soldiers back from the cruel kidnappers, most of them only dead bodies. They didn't use WAR. But now things have changed. Israel has ZERO TOLERANCE now. Thanks God there war CEASE FIRE, we don't want a WAR WORLD 3 do we ?

Anyways, the whole point of this question is, who do you think if more just? EXPLAIN!

Please, don't be all peaceful and nice, and answer saying ' None, I think war is useless, and both sides are wrong!' .
Please, tell me which side are you on !!

Thanks :)

There are currently 100,000 unexploded bomblets littered about civillian areas in Lebanon, dropped by Isreal during the last four days of conflict when the resolution was near. Can we now classify Isreal as a terrorist state, since they've so clearly terrorised Lebanese citizens?

I asked this question about three weeks ago at night and was wondering what the day crowd would say today...

This is kind of a rant...but here I go....I don't understand why people got so behind the soldiers once the "War on Terror" started?!? I spent the first 17 years of my life outside of the United States while my dad served our country. I had a great time and I'm not complaining about that but no one seemed to care before the war...I never saw "Support the Troops" bumper stickers. While I understand being stationed overseas isn't the same as being deployed to a war zone...it's just as hard. My parents grew up in the same town their whole lives and then spent 20 years away from our families and friends! Didn't people think that was important! The military is needed in other places besides the US and Iraq. I don't know if people just don't know that people go overseas to places other then Iraq or if they just don't care?

If we are going to stay in Iraq past two years....which we are....shouldn't we think about a draft? We just had soldiers getting ready to board a flight back home after 1 year in Iraq and we pulled off and said, "get back in the fight, your not going anywhere". We just recalled Reserve Marines who did there time to "get back in the fight, your not done yet"? ****...bring on some willing illegals, low-security prisoners and of course some rich kids to mix it up a bit. This is not fair for the troops here....we need a better plan than just recycling these kids back in forth. What happen to a large percentage of our Vietnam Vets? Expect the same from some these Iraq Freedom soldiers.
