I'm a United States Army Military Police Soldier.
1.) Winning shooting competitions before you join the military is one way to get recognized.
2.) Find out which Marine posts have marksmanship teams.
3.) Ask them what their requirements are and which jobs in the military they most usually get their marksmen from.
4.) Repeat # 2 & 3 for the Marine Scouts.
5.) Enlist in the Marines with a guaranteed job and duty assignment.
6.) If the Marines won't let you do that then join the Army.......more posts to choose from to be assigned to, sign up bonuses for particular jobs and it would probably be easier to get what you want.

Join the Marine Corps.
Complete basic training and Advanced Infantry Training
Apply to Force Recon
Apply to be trained as a sniper
For all of these things you have to meet the requirements. Your Marine recruiter can give you the details.

Join the Marines as a Grunt (0311) get to your first Battalion then try out!
