Go for it! The Coast Guard is the Unsung Hero of the military. If you like being an underdog and you like the aspect of humilty then the Coast Guard is for you!

If you want to be some bigshot, maybe your better off somewhere else.

Note: The coast guard is NOT a part of the navy. It is a seperate branch of the military however it is sometimes called in to work along with the navy. Including working with the Navy in combat situations.

ABSOLUTLY! there's a rateing i think of it particularly is shore patrol forgot precisely what it somewhat is using fact it became staffed frequently by using reservists and that i became energetic accountability yet there's a rateing that provides you with some experiance comparable to police artwork. learn up and nail that ASVAP you pick a 40 to be allowed into the CG and a miles extra useful score to get any of the solid jobs. O and until now you head off as properly memorize the regularly used orders on the back internet site of the e book it is going to help lots and costs and ranks for military / coast safeguard so which you have much less memorizing in boot camp. Semper Paratus destiny coastie allways be waiting.

A good friend of mine went Coast Gaurd ,he loved it but rescue swimmer is probably not enough to warrant a career move.. If you love vessels or want to patrol the seas in a law enforcement capacity, its great I hear.Have you considered Pilot for the Air Force?

Gee, I don't know how the Coast Guard is like but my brother-in-law is doing very well and seems to enjoy it. Is that the kind of stuff you do now in the Air Force? If you'd like the danger and risk aspects of such a job, then I say go for it. It looks like it could be very rewarding.

Good Coast Guard duty is great, but bad Coast Guard duty is really lousy. (Like life on a light ship, for instance)
Will the CG guarantee you the duty you want?

If you are afraid of heights, why to jump in the Jaws of Sharks? But seriously, is a very good thing to rescue your comrades and the people of the country, when thy are in need.
