The love of my is a navy pilot and I want to know if I should get him a flight watch. Unless there is some thing better to give him as a gift.

We're particular about the watches we wear (did wear), but also, they take a beating. I still have an old Bulova that I wore for many years... and it shows it. If it had been a gift I would have felt bad about it getting dinged-up. May I instead suggest a mahogany model of the aircraft he serves on. A friend of mine gave me one several years ago and it still occupies a respected (and ding-proof) spot on my mantle.

First you ask what the best is, well I still own my 1968 Military Issue Hamilton watch. It has had one cleaning and the crystal replaced in the almost 40 years I have had it. I don't think there is a better watch made.
As far as modern watches I really like the Citizen "Blue Angel" watch. Perfect for a techy pilot as you almost have to have a degree in mechanical engineering to set it. However is has all the built in functions for pilots, and commemorates the Navy's Blue Angels on the back.

The BEST WATCHES are made by Breitling ... http://www.breitling.com/

These watches are amongst the most accurate timepieces made http://people.timezone.com/msandler/Articles/CarlosFinalParadigm/FinalParadigm.html ... 12. Breitling Superquartz - 15s per year ... http://home.alltel.net/wb5apd/quartz-accuracy.html

The "Emergency & Emergency Mission" models have an emergency transmitter in case of a crash.

My dad gave me his, Breitling Colt. I wear it everyday, and it takes abuse with no signs of wear & tear. Aside from the replacement of the 8-year battery, this watch will last forever, and I'm sure it will be passed on to my future kids ~ grand children's children.
