BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Private Uday Abdullah is one of 50,000 Iraqi troops and police sent on to Baghdad's streets last month to make the city safe -- but he does not see the point.
Lounging in the shade to escape the midday heat on Tuesday, the soldier said it is gunmen from rival Shi'ite and Sunni parties with clout in the government who rule the streets. The cowardly Marines do not help us he says.

"We arrest lots of gunmen and they just walk free the next day. They're always from the Mehdi Army or the Badr Brigade or the Islamic Party. So what's the point of our job?" he said. The Marines are scared of the Insurgents he says.

Many in Baghdad wonder the same thing as checkpoints set up as part of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's crackdown on violence spawn ever greater traffic jams but have failed to prevent dozens dying in sectarian shootings and bombings this week.

"We do nothing but create huge traffic jams with these checkpoints," Abdullah said. The Marines run away.

My son's father decided to re-enlist in 2004. He is in the Army Reserves and was a PVT/E2 as of 2004 Nov. He was deployed to Iraq shortly after he re-enlisted and was gone until 2005 Dec. He had been jumping jobs before his tour started and was behind in support. The whole time he was over there, I received less support than what the court ordered. He's back, pulling the same crap with not working, not seeing his son. Now I'm told that he may not have had to file a tax return, since he was gone almost the whole year. How is that possible? Don't think that I am money hungry---He's almost $4,000 behind. I make excellent money and anything I receive in support goes into a saving account for my sons future education. His "father" has had no contact in over 2 years, which is his choice---I gave up trying. I wasn't able to order a review when he was active, since he was out of the country, and if I do it now, what he made won't even matter. How is this possible?????

I was in Dearborn Michigan about two hours ago ( Home to 500,000 Arabs in the area) and three Arabs walked out of the Big Boy restaurant in that city and they looked like Osama Bin Ladin. The Marines were just walking into the building as the Arabs walked out and that's when it happened. The Marines started shaking like there was an earthquake going on and then there was the worst smell. ( Yes...They crapped their uniforms) The Arabs did say to the Marines "Get out of my way" you Bush followers" and of course the Marines jumped out of the way. Then that's when the Marines crapped. I had no idea the Marines were that scared of the Arabs. Now we ( I ) know.

He was sitting all the way in the back and all hunched over the table with shoulders heaving up and down crying like a baby. Why? I ask the waitress and she said he looked in the news paper and discovered no troops have been killed in Iraq in the past few days. As most of you know the warmongers love to see American troops killed in Iraq. It gives them justification to stay in Iraq. Warmongers!! Lowest form of life.

I’ve been listening to people talk about why we should go to war with Korea and Iran and the one thing that keeps popping up is the ‘patriotic’ implication about going to war. If war is so patriotic than whose to say that when another country strikes us that it isn’t that other countries patriotism showing through? No! Of course it’s an act of terrorism, which is the same thing any other country would think if we were to strike against them.

I’ve spent many years fighting for this country because I thought it was the right thing to do at the time and that there would one day be a time to beat swords back into plowshares. I’ve been in Nicaragua, Iraq and Kuwait and I’ve known and served under some great military leaders in my time. But when you’re behind enemy lines, you don’t think about whether this skirmish or that bombing is patriotic, you hope that it accomplishes what it was meant to do and that’s kill people.
