The simple answer is that America isn't failing, it's the Iraqis who are failing, because people like your friend Jundee Abdullah are the majority around Baghdad.
The people around here are frightened of all the militias and terrorist groups, and the government is even more corrupt than ours in America. The Iraqi police and Army have little authority because the ministries they report to are filled with sectarian leaders.
The Prime Minister is trying his damndest to put an end to all this, but almost everyone who works for him wants him to fail. The leaders of his neighboring countries want to tell him how to run his government, and unless he agrees they will continue to support insurgent groups.
The situation is very bad, but it is gradually improving. The Iraqis need to struggle through this in order to feel ownership of their new government. They need the American military here as a stabilizing force.
If you do some research, you will see that it was not so easy for America as a fledgeling democracy either. It took nearly fifty years for the situation to sort itself out after the revolution. Things were so bad at one point that the Army laid seige to Congress demanding their pay. We had a second (failed) revolution in Pennsylvania in 1794. Things were very painful, but we eventually got everything sorted out.
We just need to give the Iraqis some time. These are rough times, and there are more rough times ahead. With the help of America and our allies, maybe their road won't be as bumpy as ours was.

What you read in our own newspapers is the liberal side to the story. Have you heard of the schools, homes, and etc. that we have built. Probably not because that is good news and the media only is interested in the BAD. Just as what the NYT newspaper did in their story on the government tracking of money, we have a real problem in this country. When our on news media doesn't print the truth where do we go to get the truth. The Internet has been a great place and resource for finding the truth. Are we failing in Iraq? By the news media the answer is yes, but in reality our troops are doing a good job, and deserve our support.

THE US IS NOT FAILING IN IRAQ. Look how far they've come. My brother and my husband are in the army and they have been to Iraq and believe me they weren't over there for nothing. I honestly believe that if they weren't over there that we would be fighting this war on our land. And it's not just Marines dying at least 3 people from my husband's platoon got killed there last year. My husband is lucky enough to have been deployed twice and came back without a scratch. My little brother has been once but he's being sent back over there next year. But the only reason it seems like it's just the marines dying is because that's pretty much all they talk about on the news are the marines that get killed.

What you have posted is what we in the business call liberal/insurgent propaganda designed and printed to demoralize the troops in country and to attempt to cause America to fall into the same political chaos that befell the country in the late 1960's/early 1970's.
If you talk to the Marines who are actually on the job, and who are out there in the ehat and action every day, they will tell you, to a man, that they ARE being effective, and that they ARE getting the job done. If you talk to the Marines that are coming home from ini theater, they will tell you, to a man (including those who are injured) that they want to gfet back to their units that are still over there.
Now... if the Marines are so scared, then why are they wanting to go back? If they are being so ineffective, then why are they insisting that they are heading back to their in theater units?
Read ALL of the news, and get the full story from those who are living it. Stay away from the stories printed by those who are stuck in the Green Zone (safe zone) for 3 days and then fly home, and you will know the truth.

Our military doesn't put their lives on the line for NOTHING! Our country is not a NOTHING! What we believe in is not a NOTHING! God Bless all of out military men and women!! They are the true hero's. Maybe our society should look up to them and not to actresses and actors who go against basic morals and have children out of wedlock!!
Our troops are doing a great job. Do you actually believe that the press tells the WHOLE story?? NO...they really don't. They tell stories to make money.
Our troops aren't doing nothing in Iraq. God knows the people there needed help!!! God knows they needed to get out from under the control of that Satanist man Sadam Hussain!!
At very least the Untied States of America and our allies have freed a country from torture!
* I would say that is worth more than anything! *

You have no idea what's going on, do you?!?! Where the hell did you get the idea that wee are failing. Our troops aren't dying for nothing and we are not losing the war!!! Check you sources again. We are over there for every single Americans freedom Iraq to destroy the idiots who attacked us on 9/11. Would you rather us back out now and not only let them get away with it, but also have the chance to kill 1000s Americans again!!!! And guess what, we are accomplishing our mission, slowly but surely we are. We are winning and i have a feeling we would be accomplishing alot more if people like you would figure that out and support the troops, and the country.

Marines do many things like jump on grenades to save their buddies. Charge the enemy because they have no other choice and know they will die. They die for the Corps and their honor while wimps get to enjoy their lives stateside and complain. Complain about things they only know from reading books written by other wimps that know nothing of what they write. The Marines have kicked a lot better *** than some "insurgants" in Iraq and will always do so.

We are not failing in Iraq. Nobody claims it is perfect, or couldn't have been done better, but that does not equate to failure. Insurgents are constatnly being killed and captured, the Iraqis have voted themselves a constitution and they have voted themselves a government. 25 million people are free, and there are only problems in a tiny fraction of the nation. This is a huge and unprecedented victory to anybody not blinded by hatred and propoganda.

We have an idiot President who won't get us out, idiot administrators, a lack of funds, a lack of public support for the war (which really helps), a lack of good manpower, and inadequate training for our troops. This leads to the problems you mention, plus incidents like the rape and murder of that poor girl and some of her family. The war in Iraq was the stupidest thing the USA has done in a long line of stupid things. Now we're all paying the price. And yes, all of you who voted for Bush both times are partly responsible for this outrage!
