I just read about several thousand pacifists-mainly from America who vollunteered to be human shields for the Iraqi Army days before the war, making our troops jobs just that much harder. Even if you don't agree with the war what would compel you to give up your life to protect some of worst mass murderers in modern history?

I''ve recently had a meeting with a Sgt. And well it was good, but I really don't like doing things under other people's terms. So if I join, I join no q's asked and it will be under my terms. If I don't same thing. Now he wants me to ask questions this Friday, and I was wondering what are your thoughts, what would you ask?

I believe that Republicans are pro-weapons because of vested interests in war-related industries (weapons, fighter planes, radar technology etc.). Many military people argue that they're better off with a Republican president because of this misconception - but historically speaking, it seems that there are more troop deployments under Republican administrations than Democrat administrations. What's your view?

Is it just making the statement? Seems like it to me. What does anyone do besides talk? Dump on anything to do with the war and their efforts, then "but, I support the troops".

I will be joining the Navy and i'm 17 years old. I would like to know how often will i be able to see my family? Is it possible that i won't see them for a whole year? How many times will i be able to see them each year?

And when i'm on a ship, will i be able to talk to them through e-mail, phone everyday? or only certain days?

Will i have time to do what i want on a ship, like watch a movie or play on the computer and stuff like that?

Are the Navy bases nice? I know it won't be as nice as the AF, but are they nice enough? What's the longest i could be stationed on-base?

When deployed to a certain area, for example Italy, how long do they stay there?

Two men lie on the road shortly after they were shot by gunmen in Baghdad July 9, 2006.

Iraq is accelerating toward civil war. Over the weekend and on Monday, July 10, Baghdad witnessed the most savage outbreak of revenge killings to date. Shiite militiamen, who witnesses claimed were members of Muqtada Sadr's Mahdi Army, set up checkpoints in the city's al-Jihad neighborhood, inspected ID cards and killed 42 people they identified as being Sunnis. They also broke into homes and killed their inhabitants. Corpses were found in the street with drill holes and pierced by nails and bolts. What did the USA Militry do?? Nothing!! The Marines were too scared to do anything toward the insurgents.
