The "B" in ASVAB stands for battery- 13 of them, I think. The real test is two different math tests, two basic English type tests, and a bunch of silly things like "which of the following shapes can be assembled into a circle?" and "which gear would spin if you turned the handle on this imaginary machine?" If you went to public high school, you should be fine. There's also a bunch of pretty specific questions about electronics and mechanics and such, but only four of the battery of tests are used to determine your overall score, which will determine your eligibility. Your score is a percentile (I.E. a 50 means 50 percent of all people who take the test score better than you, and 50 fare worse) and most services require around a 35 or a 40 to qualify, so really, don't sweat it at all.

It's pretty dumb stuff actually. Go buy the $15 study guide & spend a while working on it anyway. A really high GT score will among other things will open up some very interesting opportunities for you.

I took it in 1988, they have electronics questions, and other stuff, you can find guidebooks in like a barnes and noble bookstore

By the way, all that jive about training for college and money is bullshit.....so if that's your reason for going in, you might be better off going to a community college and getting a part time job somewhere.
