alright dont listen to most of these people. you do get paid in BMT the day you sign up is also the time you "clock in". we get paid on the 1st and the 15th every month. if you join on the 1st you will get paid on the 15th. if you join on the 7th then you will get paid partial on the 15th (instead of $1200 it might be $800) im not sure how the Academy works, but im pretty sure you get paid as a cadet plus all the free schooling. and you can be an officer with out joining the Academy there is ROTC and JROTC. that is for people with a college degree that want a commission. if you join enlisted then you have to go to ROTC and OTS among various other programs

Pay accrues from the first day.. But it may take up to 6-8 weeks before the first paycheck hits your account. Regular paydays are the 15th and 1st of each month, paid retoractively for the previous 2 weeks.

You cannot be a officer in the US Air Force until you either go to the Air Force Academy, join the US Air Force, go thru Basic Training, and then. if you are qualified, you can apply for Officer
Candidate School and if you are successful, you will then be an
2nd Lieutenant in the US AIR FORCE!!!

You sound like the type of guy that wants to know what the AF is going to do for you, instead of what you can do for the AF. To give you the benefit of the doubt, let me just say that payday is generally every two weeks. That may have changed since I was in, but the military is usually slow to change.

I believe it would be the same as an Airman Basic, you would begin receiving your pay after you graduated from BMT (Basic Military Training). The military basically wants to be sure that you are going to make it thru BMT before you see any funds from the government.

you would have to qualify to become an officer first - you just don't hop right in...ROTC, OCS, Military Acadamy, Direct Commision are the general four ways to become an officer - best bet, talk to a recruiter.......

sheesh....is that all people are about these days? money???

Yes it can be a delay to get things going, especially if your accounts aren't established & running already. Not like you need for much initially anyway though.
