I believe that Republicans are pro-weapons because of vested interests in war-related industries (weapons, fighter planes, radar technology etc.). Many military people argue that they're better off with a Republican president because of this misconception - but historically speaking, it seems that there are more troop deployments under Republican administrations than Democrat administrations. What's your view?

You hit the nail on the head. They definitly don't care about the veterans though. They really don't care about the soldiers under fire either-how long did it take them to get properly armoured vehicle to Iraq or armoured vest for the troops for their protection?

Actually both parties are pro-weapons spending in their districts. Both Republican and Democrats work to keep defense jobs in their districts.
Now the Republicans do tend to be more pro-military than the Democrats.
IMO the big difference is that the Republicans refuse to pay politics when the troops are deployed. For example the Republicans supported our efforts in the Balkans even though the had reservations - the Democrats openly work to undercut the troops if it suits their politics.
In general - the troops can depend on Republicans to back them - but not Democrats.

I am a Republican, a conservative and also a veteran. I am aware that there is a fantasy that every problem can be resolved peacfully. This may be true but if you look at the situation in Dufar in the Sudan you will see that those without weapons are being killed ,raped ,robbed ,enslaved ,or driven into the desert to die. Many liberals and pacifists would allow that fate to befall American in exchange for more welfare programs or some other socialized form of government program. Isreal has tried to make peace with Islamic poeple and all they are getting is more killing and bombings The Liberal religon is anti American and wants to make our country into a socialized nation as was Nazi Germany or the former USSR they cry about war an armies but without weapons and people willing to use them human rights are non-existant and there is no moral imperative to prevent Islam subjecting the western civilastions to the same treatment. Remember that your police force is an armed with weapons force that keeps our streets and country safer. We are not given peace and liberty by allowing the cruel to do as they would, At the local level Police protect these liberties and internationaly our military protects us. People are misled into thinking more food stamps would solve the world problems.I prefer to have weapons and I will choose war over slavery and death both for myself and my family. Democrats are the ones that get us into war like the present situation in Iraq if Clintion had exercised power this war could have been avoided but instead he acted like a woman and tried to solve the problem by being nice instead of being strong.

It's not a matter of view, it is a matter of research and coming up with the numbers. Who is willing to do that?
