My dog got loose and unfortunately a police officer found her before I could. I was given a citation ticket for Dog at Large. I'm a bit short on cash at the moment and having never had this happen before, am unsure what the cost will be. Anyone know?

i had sex with this girl last week at a party. (both being intoxicated) she pulled down my pants and started on me, then went to the side of the house. (unknowing to me) she had a tampon in, and the next night. she went to the hospital and got a huge bill. the hospital told her since she was drunk to file charges sayin rape or date rape. and the bill would go away. i need legal advice.

Does anyone know if that is right? That doesnt seem to be right, but I read that today from a pretty reliable source. Is it against the law to assert our constitutional right to assembly at jailhouses or military bases? Thanks.

The judge sentenced me for 2 years of probation, but my actual probation officer said in the beginning that I would have to call her every month until October and that'll be it. And right now I can't get contact with my probation officer, anyway I could find out the status of my probation?

I was in Austin, Texas and my mom was taken to the Emergency Room in Houston. I know I should'nt have but I drove like a bat outta hell trying to get there since she didnt have anybody esle to be with er. Sure enough a cop busted me going 82 MPH. I didn't mention to him why I was speeding (I was distraught) all I said was I was trying my best to obey th erules. This is my First/ONLY ticket in 10 years of driving history. The cop told me I could take defensive driving but I am curious if a jury would be lenient if I supplied proof that I was in a state of crisis? Thoughts?

My brother was arrested for being involved in a car accident and later released on bail. The police registered cases under 279 and 338 of ipc. But the victim has fully recovered from the injuries and wishes to not pursue the matter as he's happy with the compensation paid to him during his recovery. He has submitted an petition which has been authorised by the court withdrawing all charges registered at the P.S. But the case is still pending in court and the accused has not been given the chargesheet yet. What course of action should be taken to dispose of the matter as soon as possible.

About 3 weeks ago I applied for job and did not have any convictions or crimes committed. Well on Monday the 10th I plead no contest in a felony theft because I didn't want to risk losing in a jury trail and go to prison. I had a interview today, December 11th, 1 day after my plea. I want to know,

Will that conviction will appear on a background check within the next few days?

Hi, I'm 16 and today I got caught shoplifting at Macys in the state of Washington. This is the first time I've ever been caught doing anything; I have a clean record and I am an AP/Honors student. The charge was for joe jeans that were about 200 dollars and they told me if they had been 50 dollars more it would have been a felony. The people working there also told me I wasn't allowed at Macys for a year and that I would have to pay a charge for shoplifting, but I am mostly concerned about the police and record aspect of the charge. The police came, patted me down and asked for my name/address and I called for my dad to come get me, but we just stayed in the back-room of Macys and didn't have to go to the PD or anything. They told me I would get a ticket for theft and a court date. I was wondering, what am I going to be charged for exactly, what are the fees, and is there any way for me to get it deferred and not on my record?

The Police officer have written a statement about the evidence that proves that I am a criminal. But that evidence I have, I can prove that the statement is wrong. It was a blatant lie.

Does Having one wrong statement in police report justifies that the whole police report should be neglected by the court. Is it a perjury on part of the police officer.

Improvements in communications costing $1.3 Million have been proposed. Sadly, these will not bring back a Polish immigrant who was lasered to death by police when he became enraged over a Customs delay of ten hours in Vancouver Airport. This little incident took on international import, as you know, when the Polish government demanded an explanation for such blatant stupidity. And the wheels go round and round and round, like a circus clown.

Say a crime was commited, a witness identifies a unique description of what is said to be the getaway car. The owner of the car is stopped and arrested..is this enough probable cause to charge the owner of the car with the crime? If so, even if the owner's physical appearance could not be identified, and no other evidence?

I have had 2 reports filed against me from child abuse in day care centers. Both of the cases were unfounded, yet are still open roughly 6 months later. My boss called me today and claimed that the Police Dept. said that if I had an open case, I could not work at the center. My boss said that it was a woman behind a desk who looked like she had no clue what she was talking about. If it helps, my state is Florida. Am I truly prohibited from working in day care? In my mind, one was always innocent until proved guilty...

Someone I know was sent to jail for breaking and entering, stolen property and a weapons charge (22 rifle wan't his) for shooting off up north. The judge gave him 8 months then put it down to 5 months and 100 days on good behavior.
He is going for parole on Thursday. This guy has only been in jail since October 30th/2007...which means if he gets out on parole, he would of only served 49 days in jail for his offences. Is this not ridiculous? I know they frown on weapons, so would that hold him back from getting paroled on the 19th of this month? Need some imput here guys. He's had other B&E charges in the past too,.....would they really release him after only serving 49 bluddy days???

Listen, if your choice of action is to run around like a chicken with your head cut off or to drop to your knees and open your mouth thats fine by me; its your choice. But as for me I want to be able to protect myself from these little bastards. I want to be able to protect my wife and my children. Why shouldnt anyone upon a background check, training and extensive due process be able to carry a gun legally anywhere?

Or someone you know? Lot's of people come on here telling us UK prisons are "cushy" like a holiday camp. I don't believe a word of it. I know I wouldn't like to be there!

Did the prison experience make you vow to turn over a new leaf?

Seriously, does the guy who's 6'5 and 330lbs really annoy you or do you kind of think his questions are kind of funny? I only ask because I see he posts several questions daily and gets about 20 answers to each one. Most of the answerers sound pretty angry, yet they keep responding to his questions. Does this guy genuinely honk you off or do you think he adds a little life to the forum?
