I was walking with my 1 year old baby in the stroller by a middle school today and some kid(s) threw 2 rocks at us! One of them came within 6 inches of my baby's head. I called the police because the gym teachers didn't want to do anything. The police have the group of kids who did it, and I want to press charges. My husband is also very upset about this!
These kids could have put out my baby's eye or if it had hit her in the temple, possibly have killed her. I told the policeman that we wanted to press charges and he said that he had the group of kids, but because I didn't see who threw the rocks, there was only so much that he could do.

What steps should I take to press this? I do not want to let it go, they intended to harm me or my child. Their aim was very accurate! If I had been walking just a hair faster they would have hit my sweet baby girl!! Please help me if you can? Thank you so much for your time!

They think that I'm the one who did it and they let the other guy go.
I didn't know female cops could wear thongs in uniforms.

If you get busted going 100 mph vs 105 mph do you have to pay more? Do they arrest you after a certain point?

I am so tired of my fiance's 14 kid threatening to kill me. The kid threatens to kill me when he has a temper tantrum and becomes defiant. First he acts abnormal and immature, then he cusses me and/or his dad, then he refuses to mind, and if any type of discipline is suggested by me(take away his computer or guitar), he threatens to kill me. He sometimes gets graphic with his threats. He has said he would get a kinife and cut off my head.

The kid has threatened to kill me at least 10 times in the last four months.

Is the kid breaking the law? if so, what can be done about his threats? I want to call the police.

I am 17 and just got my second speeding ticket. My first ticket gave me 4 pointson my license, and so did this one. Now I have 8..and I will lose my license since im a junior driver. I live in Pennsylvania. Is there anyway I can fight this or get the points taken off so I don't lose my license? I have a job I need to get to. When I got my ticket I was going 70 in a 50, and they didnt pull me over til about 5 minutes after they saw me. Any suggestions?

A friend and I were stopped for speeding. Neither one of us had any kind of criminal record or warrant. After checking our liscense, the cops wanted to search our car. After searching, they found drugs. Of course we were taken in. After being interrogated, I asked the interrogator why we were searched in the first place, he said the vehicle that I was driving had been marked. The vehicle was my friends, it was a hummer, we live in a small town, so she is the only one that owns a black hummer. A few weeks earlier, she had an argument with another cop, threatening to file charges against him for illegally coming into her home and searching it. Her son and some friends were underage and drinking at her home while she was out of town and someone alerted them to it. So again, was it legal for a cop to mark or flag a vehicle to be watched by other cops for no reason other than that?

Seems from all these news shows i've seen.. that the terrorists they are fighting in the Middle east are really hard to beat cause they hide in caves and hide within the city with tricks like carbombs, sniper things ied's or whatever.

How about our own problems here? Would it be as hard as that or can they solve the problem here easier than the fight overthere in the middle east?

I wish someone could beat these gangsters that live in L.A or something. there's like thousands, i heard and they terrorize many neighborhoods.

There are innocent people who get killed (especially killed when abducted) for no reason. The victims (might) have no enemies. Cases like this can go cold. Explain. Tell me what you know. Simple answers will not be rated.

It seems like a pretty sweet gig. You get to be online all day, tricking perverts into getting arrested. Does this position have a name, and who should I contact at the local PD to get in on this gig.

Do you have to go through academy training or have a law enforcement background? I am a college graduate with a BA in history, not looking to help the police in a way that involves risking my life every day, but I'd like to help out and get a better understanding of local, state, and federal laws and how they are enforced.

Computer work seems like a good way to get training in the legal system and should help when I apply to lawschools. If the online sting guys have to be street cops, do you know of any other positions that would allow me to work at the department?

I know most departments (including mine) are strapped for guys on the street, but I haven't heard about any other job openings.

Thanks in advance.

She keeps talking about "cutting an order" and that this is enough to summon a marshall to enforce it. (Today, she told a plaintiff that was how they could get their dog back.) What is the responsibility of a marshall to respond to something other than a court duly constituted and authorized by governmental legialation? For that matter, how about anyone else who has not agreed to submit to her jurisdiction? Could she issue an order that anybody other than her litigants have to obey? Doesn't sound right to me.

I've got scum bag drug dealers in the neighborhood. It seems to take the police years to build a drug case around here. Short of running my own surveillance campaign (which is probably illegal) do you have any suggestions for a speedier way to send them packing?

I just want to know if their is something I should never do or never be near or at a certian time of the month. What are their tricks? I'm just curious. I'm not a lead foot=). Well informed answers please. Thanks!

Alright, I'm writing a book.
Part of the story is when my main character is going to go to jail. Whats something he could have done, that could get him put away for like, 2-3 maybe 4 years? I want it to be realistic so I want to use a crime that would actually give him that time sentence. Anyone?

There are certian laws, like a law mandating people to wear their seatbelts or give big brother a weeks salary, that are completely contrary to the ideas the founding fathers had in ralation to individual freedoms and liberties. The list goes on, big brother finding slick ways to take peoples guns etc..Do people in law enforment not have a conscience when it comes to robbing people of individual liberties under the guise of "public safety"...
