A friend and I were stopped for speeding. Neither one of us had any kind of criminal record or warrant. After checking our liscense, the cops wanted to search our car. After searching, they found drugs. Of course we were taken in. After being interrogated, I asked the interrogator why we were searched in the first place, he said the vehicle that I was driving had been marked. The vehicle was my friends, it was a hummer, we live in a small town, so she is the only one that owns a black hummer. A few weeks earlier, she had an argument with another cop, threatening to file charges against him for illegally coming into her home and searching it. Her son and some friends were underage and drinking at her home while she was out of town and someone alerted them to it. So again, was it legal for a cop to mark or flag a vehicle to be watched by other cops for no reason other than that?

I haven't even seen that in the movies, let alone real life.

I wonder if the officer had a bit of sarcastic humor for you. If the police did "mark" vehicles, they sure wouldn't admit it, like he did.

Small town police are good at keeping their eyes on potential problem areas, see there was under age drinking at the house of your friend and someone contacted the police their job is to go check it out and when some stupid drunk kid opens the door that gives the probable cause to search the house,so they did have the right to enter and search. Then she argues with the town police only makes them watch her movements more, then Your friend was speeding is why they stopped her and they realized that she was the same person that another officer or maybe even the same officer had talked about with the under age drinking problem or the arguing , plus once your pulled over for any reason a cop has the right to search your vehicle, and again the police was right because they found drugs. I'm sure your not hearing what you wanted here but think about it. She Tagged Herself.

1. Under Age Drinking at her house ( If she knew or not )
2. Arguing with one of the town officers.
3. Speeding
4. Drugs found in her vehicle
And living in a small town
She thought they watched her before they are going to be watching her every time they see her from now on.

I'm with Trooper.

However, if there was reason to believe there were drugs in the car... that kind of word can get around the Law Enforcement Community.

There is nothing illegal about sharing information...

"That Black Hummer is a good stop for some dope." or something.
