Hi, everytime I drive home, I pass an apartment complex. Next to the entrance to the complex, there is a very tall light pole with a pair of shoes wrapped around the top. I was told that this means that somewhere in the complex, people are selling drugs. Is that true? Shoes on tope of the light pole = drug dealing, I was told.

Is this a foolproof way to cancel any association of a gun to a crime?...assuming any serial #s or whatever they call them in gun lingo is removed. Can you perhaps get caught by using the composition of the metal shavings found at, lets say, at the perps house? I'm into Forensics and Sherlock Holmes and like thinking of this stuff.

Second question, imagine you found a rifle that might have been used in a crime. I don't know the avg. length of a barrel, so i'll say its 18 inches. If the crook filed up the first 2 inches to mess-up the rifleing patterns, can you saw off the 2 inch tip, and still give you the pattern? Or will that not work because the bullet is needed to pass through the complete length...making that evidence unuseful?

Most clubs are privately owned which means they can refuse service and kick you out for any reason. However some clubs like the HOB Orlando have a tendency of being very aggressive to its customers & making up reasons after they've already taken your money. There has to be some kind of consumer protection laws for this. What legally can be done to correct this or what measures have to be taken to create a valid case against the club, management, or staff. Keep in mind there are consumer protection laws in this country so none of that "they can kick you out for any reason" crap I've heard it already Yes they are an alcohol serving private property. But a business is a business and all can be taken down for shady practices

The red light camera went off while I was making a left turn today. I was waiting at the light to make a left turn when the light was green. I was the first car in the line and I was slightly infront of the white line. The thing is that there wasn't an opening until the cars slowed down for the yellow light. As I waited to make sure that the cars would come safely to a stop (there are plenty of NYC cars that would go through the red light), The light turned red as i began to make the left turn and the red light camera went off.

Is there a chance that I argue against it?

The cop singled me out of a whole group of speeders. He clocked me with a laser going 53 in a 35 zone. There were several others cars going just as fast as me. Do I have any hope of winning if I fight it?

Ok me and my family have been arguing about something lately. My sister think that a cop (with out radar) can give a speeding ticket to someone that is driving by them. In my opinion a cop has to have proof that you were speeding before he can give you a ticket for it, but my sister says that he can just give you it. To me if a cop pulls you over for speeding and he has no proof that you were actually doing so all he can say is "it looked like you were speeding" than he cant give a ticket. Someone please help stop this family argument.

My cousin is a meth addict. He was doing well for a while and came to stay with me. He grew up around here and reconnected with many old friends and family. Now he has fallen off the wagon and has stolen/scammed/etc several people. He has also broken into homes and cars and come close to physical violence. I want to warn people to beware of his behavior but dont know which townhouse belongs to specific elderly people. I don't have anyway of contacting them and was thinking of putting fliers on the cars in that complex. I don't want anyone to get hurt including my cousin. If he keeps up his current habits he is going to. Is it legal to post such a thing? Do I put his whole name? Do I use a picture- he has been known to use his brothers name as an alias. What the heck would I write?

My cousin was killed in a house fire back in april. They are doing an autopsy on the body and have opened a criminal investigation on the case. I was wondering how long it usually takes for the results to get back. We haven't heard much of anything, they did tell us they are leaning towards suscide. Do you think they could just be saying that because they might have a suspect in mind but they don't want them to get away? Please help the family is really getting upset about all of this. Thanks

Going home on a 3 lane highway there was a vehicle in the middle lane and a vehicle in the passing lane. There was room to pass between the two so I used my signal and did so. As I was doing so the car in the passing lane sped up and was immediately on my rear end. The following car continued to follow close. I tapped my brakes to state to back off, well my master cylinder either was gunked up with grime cause my rear drums locked up, I kept it under control and kept going. The person however decided to follow me a few miles almost to my home, but turned around. An hour later I get a message on my machine from a officer stating that I had to call him immediately. Where this happened was not in this officer's jurisdiction. When I called the station and asked for the officer I was told his shift ended and he works nights, I left a message and my cell # and have not heard from him since. What legal ground does this officer have, What happens now? Seems anyone can turn anyone in?
