This morning, I was riding a moped. There is currently some flats being built so some temporary traffic lights have been set up. The light turned red so I pulled the brakes. I wasn’t going over the limit and I didn’t brake to tightly. However, due to the stones and other debris from the building works, I skidded out of control and came off my bike. It caused quite a bit of cosmetic damage and the wheel and steering bar will need to be realigned. I guess it will need to be checked for other damage. There were no signs warning over loose debris (which I think exist). I am entitled to money from the building company to cover costs? Am I entitled to any extra money for the fact I crashed and this obviously wasn’t fun! What is the best course of action to take? They are a big company. Any help would be much appreciated.

Anybody ever heard of this? I swear I'm not making it up. My son was in a holding cell once with a guy that was in there for a warrant and "aggrevated perjury", for lying to a state Marshal. Apparently his work truck was searched and the cops found two meth pipes. He lied and said they were his to protect his good buddy from getting fired and/or arrested ( and I guess since he was going to jail anyways for the warrant). His friend, though admitted they were his and the guy got charged with...you guessed it...aggrevated perjury. How the hell is that aggrevated? First off, I dont think I would have taking the rap for something that serious if it wasnt mine. I mean he must have been a RREEEAALL good friend. Secondly, the guy was just trying to protect his friend and ended up getting screwed even further...craziness I tell ya!!

I am on probation for a first DWI, I got 2 years originally. Last year I was violated for failure to contact them right after I moved, apparently there was a misunderstanding with who contacts who. Basically they thought I was trying to skate on them. Anyways, the judge gave me an extra year of probation, however he commented that it looked good on my part that I had finished all of my community service allready. So, I assume this isnt the worst violation in the world. Well, here I am now with less than six months to go, and I submitted a UA that tested positive for meth. ( I know, I know...no lectures, please). So, I am wondering what is most likely going to happen to me, and I realize that jail is definitely an option. I assume they are going to test me again at least once more before I go to court, but I dont know. If they test me, and I come up clean, and I check myself into a rehab before I see the judge...what is the most likely that will happen??

A large agency has said they may not pay me because
my timecard isn't signed by the right person. The client
was a large computer hardware manufacturer and there
were three IT techs on site--all having equal authority. They
can confirm the accuracy of my timecard; but the agency has
said they may not pay me without a certain signature on my
timecard and don't seem willing to follow up and confirm that
my timecard is correct. What can I do to get paid on time?

Hypotheticaly; if someone was abused for several years by a person and knew him very well; what would it take for the FBI to investigate the perp if there the victim has reason to believe the person is a serial rapist and has shown capabilites and interest in serial homicide.

And no, filing and pressing charges with the local police first is not an option in this. Is there anything left to be done if that is not an option.

No lectures please on contacting the police, have been down that road and it has been ruled out already. Serious replies only.

Would an FBI agent, or profiler, ever try to determine if someone should be inverstigated based on interviews with a victim - if the crimes happened years ago? And no comments about 'it should have been reported years ago' because there is a valid reason why it wasn't. Thanks.

she was 15 and stopped for not having a license and she had marijuana and was under the influence of alcohol in Flint, Michigan. the police officer told her that if she gave him oral sex he would let her off and she did it. her other friend was in the car too as a witness. should she go to a lawyer about this or just straight to the police station

My family and I are british citizens and want to leave the US.
Though we're wondering which place is better to raise a family which is safer from most crimes. Since my family safety is number one.

I do realize there is crime everywhere but in general where is the best place to raise a family.

Also which place has better education?

I really need some advice so please let me know.

I was arrest for possesion and plead no contest.And it was inputted as a misdamenor. I want to be a nurse. But with on my record I can't. If I get it expunged can I still be a nurse or even work as a nurse for the goverment. I will be attending school this fall I was told if its expunged they can still see it. SOme one help me. I don't want to waste 4 years going to school and and not be able to get a job b/c of my stupid mistakes. I just hope because of the mistake I made my future is not over.

Just wondering if there are any services out there that are looking for experienced officers, I'll go anywhere, in canada, and to select countries in the world - warmer climate would be nice!! so i didn't go to the first hearing. The judgment went to the plantiff. Now i was served again. To show up in court for showing assets, and bank accounts and the last two years of tax papers. titles, and any property owned. Yellow page ad my daughter placed for me 4 or 5 years ago. i never make a dime off of the ad. i became very ill. last year i was granted ssi. Disabeled. Like I said the name on the court paper is not my name, or my daughters name it's no name i've ever used in my life. I guess they made a mistake. I know i owe the money. I have no assets, i live in an apt. i get $670.00 a month. If I still don't go can they take my ssi? And if i do go will they not say, Oh well we had the wrong name. So lets just put your name on the papers? Please don't say get a lawyer. I can't afford a lawyer. If you have a better then thou attitude please don't answer. I need good advice please. If I don't go can they find out i get ssi or will they just find out my bank and seize

I have been looking for a California penal code that forbades teachers from forcing students to come in to there class during break time ex. lunch/brunch, and do work. I know there is a penal code that states that breacks are student's personal time and should not be violated. If you could find the penal code that states this please respond. My teacher forces us to come every Friday brunch and do work in her class. The students who fail to show up, loose a big percentage of their grade. Thanks a lot for your help!
